Still a chance to bowl

Fingers crossed we get selected for the final slots despite the 2 FCS wins. This ain’t the season anyone wanted but I would love to see the seniors get one more game and a celebration of the dedication they’ve shown to App State.

Can't see them picking us over Miami, Auburn or Michigan State.

I think it’s time to put this season out of its misery.

I'm interested to get clarification because I have seen some claim that bowl-ineligible teams are selected for any open bowl slots based on APR scores but others have said that App and potentially Army would take precedence over Rice/UNLV.

Another opportunity to exhibit our ineptitude, no thanks. No need to be embarrassed on national tv again. There I said it.

Hope we get selected and accept a bowl.

Good point WataugaMan. If we go and win, some would still say our season sucked. If we lost, they would say, "See, I told you we sucked and the staff should be axed."

Same here. Any bowl would be better than none and win or lose would be better than not playing. This coming from one who usually thinks there are too many bowls and too many losers playing every year. Just want to see our boys get some more PT and practice.

Given the plethora of goodbyes and the forward looking approach by many in the athletic dept after last night, it would seem that they feel like we aren’t getting one of these fluke bids regardless. On to ‘23. We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us. UNC will be media darlings and likely ranked in the top 5 because of it when we go to chapel hill and we get a chance to take down a rising ECU all in the opening weeks.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if the Heel QB transferred to App in time to start next year. :D :D

Never turn down an opportunity to improve.

Glad to see the season over. If we do not legitimately qualify with 6 wins, Im happy to stay home this year. We need to lick our wounds and prep for '23 with a nasty taste in our mouth.

Truly, Yosef needs to take this season out behind the cabin and put it down. This is the most important off-season we've had since the initial transition and the one where we brought in the spread.

Depends on the situation. I'd relish an opportunity to see the team end the season on a high note with a bowl win. Keep that streak of consecutive appearances alive at least.

However, if half the team is injured or a bunch of guys decide they're not going to play then it's time to bury 2022..

When was the last time we played our last game in November, other than the transition years from fcs to fbs?

Not totally against a transfer QB but I’d also love to see what Burger can offer with his duel threat ability and a full off-season of prep.

Barring something really strange, we are not going to a bowl. We've already filed for a hardship waiver for having to schedule a second FCS game due to Marshall becoming a conference game and it was rejected.

This entire discussion is because we are, all of a sudden, below average. We went from a conversation about the NY6 to this. To THIS!

Where this could be helpful would be to give Berger/Tabscott/McBride a start and let them work with Strohman/Davis/Robinson and give Castles a start and give Roberts significant carries.

Let Shook and Maynard (or whoever our backup K/P are) handle the kicking duties.

If the team is willing to show up and play, these could be valuable building blocks.

That is true. There is valuable practice time. We might be without some assistant coaches though.
