It's like some of you guys want to punish the players and coaches for not meeting your expectations this season by not going to a bowl - geez, the really hope they get the invite and decide to go ---

When will this decision be made? I assume next weekend after conference championships, but one would think we would know before then. Those games shouldn’t impact that decision too much.

Assuming Coastal stays home if they don't win next weekend and get NO Bowl. If not where does that game slot in the pecking order?

Given the plethora of goodbyes and the forward looking approach by many in the athletic dept after last night, it would seem that they feel like we aren’t getting one of these fluke bids regardless. On to ‘23. We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us. UNC will be media darlings and likely ranked in the top 5 because of it when we go to chapel hill and we get a chance to take down a rising ECU all in the opening weeks.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if the Heel QB transferred to App in time to start next year. :D :D
Not totally against a transfer QB but I’d also love to see what Burger can offer with his duel threat ability and a full off-season of prep.
Maye will end up at Bama or UGA.

Buffalo (5-6) plays Akron (2-9) next Friday in a make-up game (from the recent blizzard), so it would be assumed that they will take one of the slots.

If they land a bowl game, great. I wouldn’t spend a penny to attend.

If we get a bowl game that requires flying what is the average cost for the program? We have flown twice to Texas this year for regular games but any bowl involves extended hotel and stays and lots of meals right? I'm sure that the players would not turn down a free week with some swag.

Thats not the reason. The reason is...we dont want a losing record. And with Shawn Clark at the helm...we will lose. Its better to call it quits now than continue the suffering. Plus...we dont deserve it.

Depends on the situation. I'd relish an opportunity to see the team end the season on a high note with a bowl win. Keep that streak of consecutive appearances alive at least.

However, if half the team is injured or a bunch of guys decide they're not going to play then it's time to bury 2022..

Where this could be helpful would be to give Berger/Tabscott/McBride a start and let them work with Strohman/Davis/Robinson and give Castles a start and give Roberts significant carries.

Let Shook and Maynard (or whoever our backup K/P are) handle the kicking duties.

If the team is willing to show up and play, these could be valuable building blocks.
That is true. There is valuable practice time. We might be without some assistant coaches though.
Without the assistant coaches might be a good thing. I would like to keep the streak alive. No one will know how we made this bowl 2 years from now. I want to see the next years lineup playing even if we lose by 40.

And we would get to see a lot of playing time from our true freshmen. Even if we get beat, the playing time will help for next season.

What are the realistic chances of us getting in? Does anyone really know?

See a lot of goodbyes and thank you messages from seniors and some in the athletic department.

I know Buffalo has 5 wins and plays lowly Akron on Friday. They likely take up one spot. I also saw there are others on the fringe with higher APR than us.

Are these hopes at another game realistic? Or just a hopeful fan base (myself included).

GO APPS!!

This is only me speaking, but just hopeful fan base. The only thing I can see as a positive for App is that the fan base travels very good. I bet we travel better than all G5 schools and a lot of the P5 schools.

We do not deserve a bowl game, and this season is mercifully over.

How many Buffalo fans are traveling to Alabama, Mississippi or even Myrtle Beach mid December? If they win they are also barely eligible.
