For what its worth, The Sporting News' latest bowl projections came out 1 hour ago and have us in the The New Orleans Bowl in a rematch with Western Kentucky.

I'm sure the coaches and AD knew the possibility of an invite

If the players want to go to a bowl then I am 100% behind that decision - if they get one and turn it down then I am 100% behind that as well - but you guys who don't want to be embarrassed by playing another game or think the players don't deserve one then don't watch

If we get an invite and turn it down then the wheels are completely off the bus….turning down a game because the guys don’t want to play or the coaches don’t want to coach would be unacceptable

Yahoo Sports has us in Camellia. Bowl tie in Sunbelt vs. MAC, maybe against Eastern Michigan. Did go to Stink game, great college atmosphere, tailgate, easy park and bus, no concession lines, fans were cordial. Both teams played hard. Tough loss to JMU this season, and came out flat against TXST, their coach is gone. We will be more ready next season, and believe we'll kick xxx in Bowl game if invited. No weeks off. Go Appalachians...

Play in the bowl. Play the QBs we will need next season. Play the guys that need a look - get ahead for next season.

This would be the 7th level of hell watching their WRs score 6 TDs on our secondary.

How many Buffalo fans are traveling to Alabama, Mississippi or even Myrtle Beach mid December? If they win they are also barely eligible.
I agree but barely eligible trumps not eligible.

It's like some of you guys want to punish the players and coaches for not meeting your expectations this season by not going to a bowl - geez, the really hope they get the invite and decide to go ---
Thats not the reason. The reason is...we dont want a losing record. And with Shawn Clark at the helm...we will lose. Its better to call it quits now than continue the suffering. Plus...we dont deserve it.
Well, you're right about one thing, you God-awful fans don't deserve anything.

I think the chances are pretty good App gets a bowl invite. USA today has App vs Wyoming in New Mexico bowl. It is a long time until next September, I wouldn't mind seeing App play in one more game with an opportunity at a winning season and a bowl win.

I think it's already been communicated that our waiver request was denied.

The waiver will not matter, as App would be picked as we are: 6-6 with a 2nd FCS win. The waiver was about getting a hall pass because two of our 6 wins was FCS due to scheduling necessary for Marshall to come into the conference this season. It was a hardship waiver request. Other 5 win teams will go in. APP would be in that 5 win group. Gillian has said there are bowls that still want us due to our traveling well. Personally Im ambivalent about accepting a bowl bid. We would be getting one because of money we bring to a bowl community, not because we legitimately qualified.

I would support a bowl if we treated it as an audition while also trying to win. See which players and coaches are up to the development challenge. Unfortunately, the fans may not agree with that and would cause more uproar with another loss. I expect us to not go into a bowl.

Be fun to see some of the kids play in a bowl. Does Kanye have 1 more game of eligibility for his redshirt? A Berger and Kanye backfield, throwing some deep balls to Stroman, would certainly change the mood regarding the near future around here.

Yes, he does. But, it doesn't matter. We're not going to a bowl. Players have cleaned out their lockers. Season is over.

I'm glad to hear what AppStateNews said. If you want to give Shawn a chance to fix things and get us back on the right track then a bowl game would just be a distraction. We would be in a low level bowl game, have to replace some coaches, and players hitting the portal. The last thing we need is another opportunity this year to lose where people get even madder at Clark. I bet Shawn is glad to just get this nightmare of a season over. We can turn this around and win 8-9 games next year but just need to move on to worrying about the 2023 roster.

Don't the coaches have bonuses tied to playing in a bowl? I don't think it's probably a whole lot but I'm sure they would appreciate the extra $$

So the record bowl game streak to start FBS ends at 7. I can certainly admit I was taking it for granted as I figured there's no way this program misses a bowl any time soon.

Do you want a couple thousand extra now or make it tougher to move on for next year and potentially lose your job next year? If I'm the coaches who will remain I would gladly give that up for a better chance at getting a good staff together and navigating the transfer portal.
