Booing

Unread post by NewApp » Sat Nov 26, 2022 6:03 pm

GSU fans booing us as we enter. I hope our fans don't still do that. It's somewhat a tradition, but still tacky and immature.

Like they were a threat and bad guys even though we e didn't know them nor ever faced them. Tacky. Not typical App fans.

FWIW, Adam just said the stadium is only 60% full thus far.

Our fans would boo and cuss them relentlessly. Sorry but it's just reality.

I gave Old Dominion a robust booing last weekend. It’s what you do. It doesn’t show you as less “classy.” It shows you have a passionate fan base. Booing is part of entertainment. You boo the bad guy.

I'm just an old fuddy duddy. FWIW, I don't see it at hockey games and for that matter, no one not standing for the National Anthem or leaving their hat on. Just an observation whether it matters or not.

Been to plenty of hockey games where booing occurred. Booing has occurred since before I was born, so maybe a fuddy duddy, but don't think age has anything to do with it.

I agree NewApp. It is classless. Just like trash talking and showboating is classless. Encourage your team, cheer loudly when we are on defense, and as a player, celebrate as a team, not as individuals.

I've never been to any except the Checkers and haven't noticed any booing the past 3 or 4 seasons. Just luck, maybe.

Come on. I hate Georgia Southern as much as anyone - but this literally will happen at any school in collegiate athletics. Including ours. If obscenities or other offensive remarks were included that’s a different story. Booing? That’s just something that’s going to happen in a rivalry with so much history.

Back in the old ECHL days there was plenty of booing. And fights. Lots of fights. It was glorious.

Yep fights. Like someone on here said a few weeks ago, went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.

Thanks for your opinion and BTW so is yours. Just shows some Apps prefer us to be better sports than the opposition and some don't. We can be like Georgia Southern I guess.

we should kiss our opponents to show them how much we love and respect them.
