Sun Belt Games Today

Unread post by WataugaMan » Sat Nov 05, 2022 9:15 am

Heading to the winery today with family and friends. In the mean time, after viewing today's Sun Belt games here are my games of interest:

Marshall at ODU - If Marshall wins both teams are 2-3 in conference

Georgia State at Southern Miss - If Southern Miss wins, Georgia State is 2-3 in conference

South Alabama at The Stink - If South Alabama wins The Stink will be will be 2-3 in conference

If all the above occurs our last three conference foes will have the same conference record as us after today. Also, Ga State will be 2-3. In other words, App - Ga State - Marshall - ODU - The Stink will all be 2-3 in conference.

Last game:

JMU at Louisville on ESPNU 7:30 kickoff

Other records don't really matter now. We just need to win out some kind if bad to have some semblance of a decent season. My opinion is that's a tall task for this team.
Looks like it will be Coastal v either Troy or SoAl in championship game.

I realize winning out is paramount at this point, however, observing other games breaks the boredom. Then again, how these other games play out may have an affect come bowl selection time.

Off topic, Tx A&M getting handled at home again making our win against them even less impressive. They just showed an App State fan in the stands. LOL

Ready for this nightmare to end. But it may have only begun.

I know we cant afford to get rid of clark, and no one else would want him.

Winning out and a good bowl win would still be our worst full season in FBS...i cant imagine us doing it....but its all their is to cling to now

Tried to watch Marshall v ODU fell asleep. Can't tell if there just bad or have really good defenses.
Southern will for sure be the hardest of last 3 to get by, already up 14-7 1st quarter

Think we have a good shot at beating both Marshall and ODU. Georgia Southern is getting better week to week and we have them at their place, think they might smoke us. We have to win Marshall and ODU. Also, think we were 7-5 our first season in conference and lost to Southern Miss, FCS Liberty and a bad S Alabama team. We won 6 straight to finish the season, but as a whole, if we win out and win a bowl game, I’d say this would be a better season overall than that one.

I think a missed field goal cost us the SoMiss game. Don't remember Liberty game. I think SoAl ran it down our throat the whole game that year and that one wasn't close.

Think we missed an extra point against Liberty that would have won in regulation and we ended up losing in OT

With Marshall beating ODU, we are tied with them at 2-3 in 3 way tie at the bottom. GS and GSU are winning, would each be 3-2.

I am looking forward to bowl season...I could see the Sunbelt going undefeated. I hope we are a part of it. Georgia State is much improved over the years, Georgia Southern looks very good, South Alabama and Troy should be wins. Coastal should be a win. If we win 2 more we may be the one to worry about. I hope we get a shot at someone. I would like to see the players end the season on a high note. I know they work hard.

You can always throw out the records when we play Stink. Only way we beat them this year is in a shoot out. Their offense may be the best in conference. At least today is how they look.

What's happened to Troy? UL up 17-0. Did their qb go down? Next to no offense looking at stats

South Alabama is giving the ball to their running back, then not subbing him out, give the ball to him again, rinse and repeat.

If they really want to be elite, they need to rotate in a different running back each series. /s

Tell me about it. I can't believe any team would be so old school as to not rotate running backs every 2 plays this day and time

Don't most elite level backs only get 6-8 carries a game?
