Was not UNC Healthcare in the news a few weeks ago about being on the verge or losing Medicare payments over some unsafe conditions or something?WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 4:25 pmI know it was via a merger, and that they have a great reputation in the Healthcare industry, but it's a pet peeve of mine to see the light blue logo of UNC Health in our stadium. It would be nice if they'd go the Sun Belt Conference route and let us customize the logo to Black and Gold.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 2:50 pmMy money is on Lowe's Hardware given their history in Wilkes County if a corporate donor.
Humorous corporate sponsors would be UNC Health or Wake Forest Baptist Hospital just for the optics of those schools playing us in Boone in the future.
Maybe LabCorp but they are out of Burlington so more likely to toss money to UNCG/A&T/Elon, though their brand is clearly national.
Do we still have the person at Blue Cross or has he retired.
We need more Truist Fields and Stadiums in this state. The 5 or 6 we have is NOT enough.

That was the point. I’ll try and look it up. Seems it was on WFDD.

If it gets us the stadium and facilities we need then I don't care what they call the stadium. Our fans don't donate, for whatever reason, so we have to take a big corporate paycheck.

Someone should approach SECU (State employees credit union) they are flush with cash and no shareholders demanding how it be used. Their marketing budget is pretty large. I also have heard they are thinking about becoming FDIC insured, which would open up a lot of accounts for them.

Cone Health does not have a presence in that area. Belk's was near bankruptcy I thought.

Belk's did go bankrupt last year, but they are restructuring and still advertising, though likely at a lower budget level. It is probably just as important if not more so to advertise after going bankrupt to let the public know you are still in business.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 1:15 pmCone Health does not have a presence in that area. SECU is flush with cash but has a minuscule advertising and marketing budget. You won’t see SECU advertised in print, radio, television or social media. The SECU Foundation typically doesn’t invest in projects like a college athletic facility. Instead, you’ll see SECU’s name on things like N.C. Public Television and Save the Haw River.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 1:02 pmSomeone should approach SECU (State employees credit union) they are flush with cash and no shareholders demanding how it be used. I would be surprised if they do not go national. Relatively new CEO wants that course I believe. They are hiring middle to upper level talent that have worked in large financial services shops including large "bank" shops.

Way off subject...but if I were giving a young person advice...I would say look at landing a job at SECU. They have a really good package for employees.

They are already insured by National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 1:02 pmSomeone should approach SECU (State employees credit union) they are flush with cash and no shareholders demanding how it be used. The foundation is mostly for scholarships. Each member pays $1 a month to the foundation or pays a service fee of the same amount..AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 1:57 pmSECU is flush with cash but has a minuscule advertising and marketing budget. Re: EXPANDING STADIUM TO 40k CAPACITY
Diesel mentioned this on the SBC board and I agree with him.
I'm not sure building a new IPF is critical, I'd rather use those funds to upgrade other venues (baseball, 105, etc.). The incremental benefits would seem to outweigh the cost.
