Not sure who else could have taken Marshall's spot on such short notice.
Yeah, I get it. These things happen, and sometimes you gotta schedule who you can get.

Still it's not much fun as a fan beating up on El Cid or any other overmatched FCS team.
After the first four games, as a fan I thought this was fun as hell!

Strange to do so well and be 0% on 3rd down. But only 5 3rd downs as well.

The thing I liked about Roberts is his pass pro.
Agreed. He made some nice reads and pick ups.

On one of his first plays he pancaked a blitzing linebacker better than some o line could have done. It was amazing.

Amazing that we had the ball for 20:00 and ran ONE offensive play in the entire third quarter and won 49-0. Sometimes it's amusing to ignore the game thread then go back much later and read the progression of bitching and moaning that went on earlier. We might have some real studs in waiting- Kanye might be special

Its a weekly amusement of mind. The thing is, its always the same guys bitching and melting down and they never learn.

Bottom line we did what we were suppose to do.

We were efficient on offense, on defense they basically had one good drive that ended in a turnover, we covered the spread, we didn't turn the ball over and we had few boneheaded penalties. Backups got to play and there were some pleasant surprises.

I'd say we checked all boxes. Now get healed up and lets do the same with Texas State.

Was is Hetzel (#12) that made that one-handed catch towards the end? Reminiscent of Hennigan's one-handed sideline catch as a freshman against Wake Forest. We've got talent that hasn't even surfaced yet..

Some people live to point out the negative. Others live to point out the positives. The best kind of fans can objectively point out both. Praise where warranted, criticize where warranted.

Yup. And fun fact about Hetzel and why he's seeing the field more this year...

He's a walk on from Ardrey Kell. Trey Kavanaugh coached him his freshman and sophomore years in high school. Coach Kavanaugh went to become head coach at Cuthbertson. He's since come back up the mountain to be an offensive quality control coach. He knew what we had in Hetzel and has brought it out in him.

Also, Kavanaugh is the grandson of some guy named Jerry Moore. I think some people here have probably heard of him.

Pretty cool...is that the same Jerry Moore as the statue guy in front of the NEZ facility?

He also earned a spot on the field for Miracle on the Mountain II

Trey also played at App at wideout. Great young man and friend. A true mountaineer!
