I would love to see this graphic at the season's end. The belt has had some big wins, so I hope it can capitalize on them.

By the way, Wake Forest has an average attendance through 3 games of 30,602.

Attendance is incredible. It’ll take a Hurricane and a Wednesday night game to nerf our season average by the end of the year.

It’s hilarious that Ga State gets to use 15k as its official average. They won’t have 15k total cheeks in seats all season.

More humorous to me is the Beach DoDo birds last in the conference in attendance and undefeated overall in record.

Tickets sold, even if a good portion are picked up by a corporate sponsor and not used.

I am really not sure how they sell recruits on culture/tradition with the dismal attendance. I remember their players commenting on the impressive attendance at the weekday game in KBS last year.

In all fairness Wake has less than 6,000 undergrad enrollment so we have more students attending games than they have enrolled. We like to make fun of Wake's attendance numbers or lack thereof, but they really are a small school. Yet even with their smaller enrollment numbers and fewer alumni the Deacon Club still raises almost twice as much as Yosef. I know, they produce more doctors, lawyers, etc., blah, blah, blah. We still have MANY more alumni than they do.

Agree to compare with Wake is silly. Even if they had a 50k stadium they would still draw the same basic number. I would imagine that they have quite a few alumni spread out pretty far from WS as well. They really get a great deal from Clemson football and Duke/UNC hoops successes.

In all fairness, Wake is selling 4 tickets for $80 with hot dog and drinks AND parking. Basically they are begging people to come to their games. I don't care how many students they have.

But to your point (point well taken about type of alumni), if we continue to build a foundation of student body that is as feverish about supporting App football as we have seen in recent years, for next 5-10 yrs, we WILL have a big alumni base that will continue to financially support our program in the future. This IS laying the groundwork for a long time.

I hope you are right. I have wondered what our attendance would be if the students dropped off. Ie Basketball attendance.

The students won't drop off any time soon. Basketball is a different animal for us because as rabid as we are during football season, 90% of our fan base pulls out their dark blue, baby blue, or red gear in november.

When WF played Clemson and it was hyped as a game where WF could beat a top ranked team for the first time in like 70 years - big game, right? - 2/3rds of the "visitors" side was Orange and the other 1/3 probably wasn't half full???

Thats just not a true statement. The orange stands out a lot against a black background. So it does look like a lot of them were there. And there were a ton of clemson fans. But nowhere near 2/3. Maybe in years past that was the case but not this year.

Also, wake is averaging like 90%+ student turnout at games. Thats a pretty good number.

Anyway, dumb to compare App and Wake, two very different universities and very different fanbases.

App is dominating the SBC, lets keep talking about that.

Maybe Wake is still a basketball school even though they suk some of the time.

30,789 today. A lot of no-shows, but still a solid effort.

Their crowd vs stadium size is like a BB rolling around in a barrell.

This is a time I’ll be thankful for tickets sold vs butts in seats. Ain’t no way

Give Wake a break. If you walk around that campus, you’ll find a lot of students do not speak conversational English. Lot of foreigners. So they are into Formula 1 racing and soccer. If you go to any bar in Europe on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, that’s what’ll be on, not football.

Duke is scared to play us and Duke has three times the enrollment of Wake and they only draw 15,000 for an ACC football game with Virginia. I'm shocked that this board always talks about Wake. Wake averages over 30,000 with 6,000 students .. That's 5 times its enrollment .. That means NC State should average over 170,000 for football games with an enrollment of over 34,000. It's apples to apples folks - We are so blessed at App to have the best football program in NC and the best fans in the country !!! .. Go Apps !!
