Coach Clark is mentioned in this article as a potential replacement for Geoff Collins at GA Tech.

Tech should go with Chadwell. No matter what we think of the sea chickens, that offense is a great modern version of the flexbone offense with the current blocking rules. Tech was idiotic to think that they could run a more typical offense with their recruiting difficulties.

…But if they do come calling for Clark it’s time for us to finally back the brinks truck up to the stadium formerly called Turner Field and ask an App son to come home.

I would bet a lot of money it won’t be Clark.

Chadwell is actually the better fit. Clark will be here a while.

I'd be more concerned with losing Doug Gillan to Ga. Tech than Clark. They just fired their AD.

Based on what Shawn Elliot has done at GSU I wouldn't be too thrilled with him as HC. Granted GSU has an awful football culture, but it would give me some pause still that he has not been successful in spite of that.

All y'all keep bashing Clark he will leave...

Currenlty we both can afford Clark and he wants to be here. If you haven't noticed how much he has grown, matured and improved as a HC since the date he was hired then you haven't been paying attention. Does he need to get better? Yes...Don't we all though?

If Clark does leave - with the money we have to pay a coach - it would be hard pressed to think we will get any coach that is not looking at his next stop. Clark should be able to manage and make adjustments as needed in the future. Hope to keep him and our AD.

Where in this thread up until the time of your post did anyone bash Clark? "All y'all" is a little over the top.

Which is fine, but "all y'all" casts a broad net. Some of us on here are rational people and see things through a pretty decent lens.

Hmmmmm....I could see DG there, and us replacing him with another very good AD.

Thanks. Sorry I had to go all message board poster police on you there. Lol. Seriously, Clark can handle the job. Still learning, but capable.

We do not need a HC that is the best OC or DC. We need a leader that knows who the best OC and DC is for App and then puts them in a place to succeed. Sounds simple - however it is a model that works. I believe SC is the guy - he is learning and does appear to have very good leadership qualities. All programs have ups and downs. This will work itself out - one way of the other.

If he takes that job he's as dumb as some people on this message board think he is. I'd coach Georgia State before I'd go to Georgia Tech. The difference in pay isn't worth having to commute into Atlanta every day.
