I don't get everyone's desire to have it connected....

And premium seating is premium for a reason. It's exclusive. They don't want people running up there and sitting in those seats who aren't supposed to be there. Access is limited for a reason.

One of the better threads. Interesting and civil.
I hope to hang around to see some of these ideas happen.

Because it looks silly if none of them connect.

I don't know why it should be connected because you're not going to get into the door of the building or onto the loge box seating....

You could actually connect it under the stands with a concealed breezeway.

I guess if you want to build stands under and on hill to match the lower stands we could have a rectangle of field seats

The club level seating at BOA Stadium blends seamlessly with the rest of the lower bowl. There are many ways to restrict access to certain areas. I’m looking forward to our first stadium expansion ever that doesn’t seem pieced-together and disjointed.

Sorry. I meant that you could build a connecting walkway under the overhang of seats in the NEZ.

What about making the top level of select parking decks green space? Grass, shrubs, maybe a few small trees on the deck and a few tall trees on the ground level nearby to create a nice tailgate-able space.

Here's an example. Obviously a wild urban environment different from ours, but the concept is still visible:

And here's a concept image that looks more similar to what I'd hope they would do.

I was going to suggest fencing in the top of the decks and naturalizing them. Gives fans the option for open air option tailgating on nice days or under cover in inclement conditions. Keeps the tree hugging hippy vibe and would look good in Renfro’s aerial shots.

I've heard of plans to wrap the concourse around the front side roof of NEZ. Believe someone in yosef/Athletics told me this was the long term plan and building/roof were designed to accommodate. Not sure how that ties in with long term plan of east side stands and new premium seating options.

I enjoy the sell out crowds and energy it brings to game day. A little scarcity to the ticket supply is not a bad thing as it creates FOMO. Hated the days when turning to high five neighbor only to find an empty seat. Real test will be next year when donation requirements go up or we experience the inevitable mediocre season.

Big picture, Is the current level of demand sustainable and worth taking on 10s of millions in additional debt?

No, and not at these rising interest rates, let’s for once step up as a fanbase and fund a capital campaign.

This recession is going to be unfortunate timing as well.

Y’all! This is just a discussion, and a good one. We all know that the money isn’t there. Just let the discussion happen. It’s a good way to prime the pump for that capital campaign. When I was a kid I knew I wouldn’t get all I wanted for Christmas but I sure loved looking at the Sears catalogue (Google it young folks).

Isn't athletics raising money right now for their compex on 105, the old high school site?

I agree about soccer but if there is a definite need in the stadium it’s replacing both lower levels. They’re crumbling away.

If the renovation is for a safety reason then we need to do it. All this extra connections and such is just frivolous spending.

That part is but we are going to need more seats if we keep winning.

I heard they tried to bring it back but the plans kept flopping.

I've read a few suggestions (wishes) that part of any renovation would be to bring the stands closer to the field. How exactly would that happen short of costing a fortune? It would be interesting to see a realistic listing of possible additions/renovations in terms of least to most expensive. I would think that adding and leaving the temp bleachers is easily the cheapest option and generates quick and easy ticket revenue. It is beginning to look like for most games we will bust that 30k+ attendance mark regularly and cramming people onto the hill doesn't seem sustainable. Leaving valuable seating area open under the North endzone just seems odd but like most people on this board I know nothing.
