TAMU Yell Practice
Anyone else seen the tweet of the A & M cheerleader totally trashing our team and school at their pep rally? Believe it has been taken down from twitter. Barstool Sports had it up earlier. It was bad. Insulting and immature rant that was totally demeaning to App State and our players. In my opinion, we should demand a public apology from this young man and the school. If they have any pride or class about themselves they will handle this appropriately. Just my opinion. Any thoughts?
Isn't it great that a bunch of backwoods hillbillies that are illiterate and only have 2 brain cells apiece can actually win a football game?
Maybe I'm getting too worked up but what he said was totally wrong!

Re: TAMU Yell Practice
To me, it's not that serious. We've heard the low hanging backwoods hillbilly, goat, cousin and hippy jokes. Nothing our fans do or say will change opposing fans' perception of those stereotypes. If anything, it probably hurts their pride more to believe those things only to see their team get smacked around by a bunch of goat loving, cousin dating, moonshine drinking, no branch family tree having hippies.
At the end of the day, all that matters is if the team gave their all which is hopefully enough to bring home the W.

We don't need a public apology, it is just part of the game build up. We got the win, and that guy will never forget the a$$ whopping that App State put on his team. We were more physical and controlled the game.

No one in attendance from our groyp took it serious. It’s his job to rile up their fan base.

Yeah, I don’t really care. We say worse things about ourselves on this board daily.

It's the midnight yell, they do this to every opponent and the smack talk was weak at best. We have thick skin on the mountain to protect us from the elements, I think we can deal with some "mean" words.

Re: TAMU Yell Practice
We attended the Midnight Yell Friday night and thought it was funny. As mentioned in a previous post, they do it before every home game to practice their cheers.
I did think it was weird that they do not have female cheerleaders on the field for games…. All part of their tradition apparently.

The one Yell Leader who made a two-minute joke about how a horse bought by an App grad committed suicide by jumping off a cliff was worse.
It's part of their deal before every game. But man, those jokes are lame.

Lol this is priceless.
The yell practice was disturbing, but not near as disturbing as us demoralizing their prize football team, taking their 1.5 million and then stealing game day from them. It's called Karma and it is a bitch!

Re: TAMU Yell Practice
Here's the whole Midnight Yell Practice. The two overall guys with white shirts marched from the 50 to opposite goal lines and back for 30 minutes before it started and then did the worst pushups I've ever seen for like 5 minutes.

No need for an apology. We’ve been called worse by better.

Re: TAMU Yell Practice
I think it’s great that TAMU has their traditions and everything. The fact that they can regularly get 25k to attend a pep rally is frankly amazing in this era. I just wish they’d put in a little bit of effort to make it. The jokes were terrible, unimaginative and not close to funny. The weird stomping around and pacing. It was bad. I can’t believe they recommend visitors to go there.appfanjj wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:05 amAnyone else seen the tweet of the A & M cheerleader totally trashing our team and school at their pep rally? Re: TAMU Yell Practice
Which is one thing that makes this board great. As we argue and complain to and about each other, we do rally around the school when it is time. I would not want a cookie-cutter board with no life.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:20 amYeah, I don’t really care. We say worse things about ourselves on this board daily.

Re: TAMU Yell Practice
As I was walking back to my car after Yell Practice, three students walked by me. They were either a little drunk or just wanted to take a pot shot. One of them said, “I would have a problem spelling Appalayshun too.” I just responded with, “I don’t doubt it.”

Man they are getting absolutely flamed online for this right now. Barstool is even going in on them.
They had to disable comments on their YouTube.
