My thoughts on the game:
1) it was HOT! After about 10 minutes of game time, i moved under the bleachers where i remained the whole time. I saw NO App player cramping (some Aggies did). App players appeared to be better conditioned and better hydrated than the Aggies.
2) the D played GREAT. Holding the #6 team to less than 200 yds of offense is crazy good.
3) one reason for the D’s success was Apps time of possession. We played ballcontrol offense and ate up the clock.
4) the refs were not kind to App
5) that double fumble play was very important to the win
6) peoples is da man! Great game. That 48 yd run was ridiculous. He bounced outside like the Aggies were stuck in the sand.
7) App’s Oline dominated like never before. Brice had time to make good decisions. THAT prolly won the game right there.

NOW, who wants to be next? I thinks its Troy.
Spot on. In addition, that was was of the best college football atmospheres and their fanbase was phenomenal. Many compliments, congratulations and actually had several buy our beers afterwards. College Station was pretty remarkable.

Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech all loose in an 8 day period to teams in OUR DIVISION (2 of those teams were in the top 10)

This will be an interesting season
Heard on the Stink v Nebraska game that the Huskers had a streak of like 241-0 at home when scoring over 35 points- that ended last night. Frost might not survive the rest of the season.
His buy out cuts in half on October 1. He’s got 3 weeks to turn it around, which won’t happen. Like I said last night, he should already be scouting houses in Concord.
Could UNCC afford him? And if so, do you think he could turn around the 49'ers program?

I'm sure that nearly every player on tbe roster loves being here (probably some more than others) and a few will possibly want to move on but I just feel like Chase ABSOLUTELY loves App State and it seems like that love is reciprocated by his teammates. Glad we at least got him for 2 years.

Yes, the A&M fans were top notch. Very friendly and the traditions in that stadium are too cool. It was a great experience if you could get past the heat.

Agree, their fans were great before and after game. It was pure luck of the ticket lottery. We were given seats right under the over-hang. No real sun directly on us until 4th Q.

Aresco and the AAC doubled down and offered conference membership based on TV audience potential, which has proven repeatedly to be problematic.

Gill and the SBC offered membership based on individual program performance and the opportunity to increase regional competition. Better travel for teams, happier fans and more competitive conference play.

If Aresco is crying, Gill has to be smiling right now.
Gill made some pretty good choices
He didn't make the decisions.

I don't think I can accurately describe just how weird Midnight Yell Practice was to see live. The video posted above wasn't even the nuttiest thing. One of the yell leaders talked about how a horse bought by an App grad jumped off a cliff to its death.

Some of them know they're weird. Many aren't in on the joke. It's like NC State plus oil money and Texas ego.

It was a bit underwhelming.

My wife said the same thing related to the chants during the game. Although I did not get all the chants and rhyme and reason for others...I was impressed that all their fans..not just student as section , completed the rituals throughout the game...

One thing I don't get about A&M fans/students is that they do all their fancy cheers and routines during Midnight Yell and during all the TV timeouts, but don't make as much noise during the actual game. They were on defense for 2/3rds of the game, so they had chances to holler, but they didn't.

Had to be one of the best away game experiences ever. The chants and rhymes were a bit hokey but fit with the football tradition at the school. Tailgating scene was fantastic, we did post-game tailgating in the tailgate areas with their fans, pre-game at the Dixie Chicken. The student union, the bonfire memorial, the graveyard for the mascot dogs, the traditions at that school are amazing. On top of that is everything that money can buy.

But they don't have what we've got. With all their tradition and money they can't match what we've got on the mountain. Hard to put a name on what it is but we've got it. Great weekend to be a Mountaineer.

My favorite excuses to minimize what the SBC accomplished so far from opposing fan bases have been a Jacksonville State fan who says A&M and Marshall/Notre Dame shouldn’t count as top 10 wins because the two teams obviously didn’t deserve to be in the top 10, from an ECU fan who says that the Sun Belt doesn’t get credit for the Marshall win because they haven’t played a SB game yet, the claim that Nebraska and VT stink so beating them is meaningless.

The jealousy is real guys 🤣!

We worry too much about what other fans think. Sometimes I wonder why we go looking for their opinions.
