Re: T A&M
I hope our team is looking forward to Troy with details and will be ready.
I'm still watching clips and commentary from this past weekend game. I guess we will find out what A&M has in the tank over the next couple of weeks but the vibe I am getting is they are fixing to totally implode. AllTime curse will rear its ugly head. It could take years for them to recover.

Re: T A&M
There’s a long thread on TexAgs debating if they should stop doing yell practice altogether .

Yes.While not solely, more than any single individual . Our national brand, active Trustees and her business\political savvy make ours the loudest voice in that room, university presidents.

Re: T A&M
Read just now that Jimbo might consider turning play calling over to their offensive coordinator. Who is their coordinator and what exactly does he do if Jimbo calls plays? Also curious how much he makes. Probably more than Coach Clark and doesn't appear to have a defined roll

This is my worry if current OC is not good. Barbay has strong ties to Texas and several family members attended A&M

Jimbo has the wrong guy playing QB. Once he gets his head out of his ass and puts Max Johnson under center, things should start to improve.Yosefus wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 7:43 amI hope our team is looking forward to Troy with details and will be ready.

Re: T A&M
Heard that the starter's dad is head of Texas HS athletic association or something. Wonder if the politics has made that hard? Maybe this finally gets Johnson on the field.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 12:57 pmJimbo has the wrong guy playing QB. I’ve heard the same. Of course, the source is a bit biased so you have to take it with a grain of salt.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 1:09 pmHeard that the starter's dad is head of Texas HS athletic association or something. Re: T A&M
A&M booster (not biased to either QB) told it to the person in front of me and they repeated to me what was said when I heard part of it and asked. I was shocked Johnson would go there without expecting to be the starter so I figured the other guy had to be really good to win that battle. The fact he is not would give reason to believe it could easily be true.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 1:16 pmI’ve heard the same. Re: T A&M
Well our defensive effort last Saturday has forced a QB change. Stink win triggered a coaching change with a massive check written. Who knows what will happen in South Bend.

Re: T A&M
Just heard that A&M is about a 3 TD dog this weekend. It's still a great win for us no matter what but it's looking like the shine is gonna wear off a good bit. Aggies trending towards a tough season (by their standards). They are staring at 6-6 (maybe). Jimbo has a $90m buyout. Ridiculous down there.

Re: T A&M
Nope, we beat the #6 team in the country. Just like in 2007 we beat the #5 team in the country.
One could easily argue we put them into a tailspin that led to a dysfunctional season. May be a bit too much credit, but whatever.
They don’t go back after the season and adjust your opponents’ ranking in the record books. It’s where they were ranked at the time. Don’t let anyone try and take that away from us.

Re: T A&M
Exactly. You want a big win to still look big when the season is over. It was impressive no matter what but ranking on the second week is meaningless if the team ranked was not worthy and went into the crapper. Michigan still went like 8-4 and won a bowl game if I'm not mistaken so that was ultimately a huge win over what ended up being a good (not great) team. We still want A&M to finish strong and if they beat Alabama that really makes us look better but if they get the doors blown off Saturday it does take some shine off. Nothing takes the win away but the impressiveness can drop.

Re: T A&M
I’m saying national pundits will try to discount it like it wasn’t an impressive win. Don’t let them.
