Uh when I go to that Google box and type in App State football I get an immediate option for this site. Gets me there pretty quick. Am I missing something?

That is what I had always thought as well. We did it was because Arkansas State made it clear since they had been in the league first that they should keep it and asked us to change, correct?

I think this is being overly dramatic.."AD chewing someone out". Geez, the website was down for a few days. Sure, it is a bummer it was down, however, there are lot worse things that can happen life. A great leader sees this a a teachable moment and would implement policies and procedures in place so there is a low risk of happening in the future. If the website operation (whether outsourced or inhouse) is the AD's ultimate responsibility, a good leader takes responsibility and enact policy/procedures, etc.

It is a little thing but we have too many little things happen like this. A department at App should have gotten all that stuff from the person who handled it before. Whenever anyone leaves you do that to make sure all their duties are taken over. I don’t know the full details but the protocols they are putting in place now will prevent this. My point is it should have already been done.

I agree about the leader but he probably didn’t think they would have let something like this happen. I know I would assume the people there took care of it and I wouldn’t have to babysit. Obviously you don’t fire anyone but now look around and see if anything similar might be a risk to happen anywhere else.

I am so glad that we gave up the ASU branding. Too many schools are branded ASU, but only one is APP STATE! Although I imagine some people wonder if App State is short for Application State or Appetizer State?

I do like the change for the same reason. At first I thought it sounded lame but after 3 seconds I realized it separates us a little bit. Surprised Arkansas State didn’t want to be Ark State or something as well due to Arizona State being ASU.

Most of those schools were the same name for generations. App to me is the only ASU..us. To hell with all the pretenders. We are IT. lol

We've had cheers for a generation or more saying App State. In fact when were still ASTC, we had cheers and sweat shirts, stationary, etc saying App State. So where is the new branding?

It’s not our athletic brand anymore. We are still Appalachian State University and ASU for other branding and fans can still chant ASU as we’ve done for generations. Come on man!
