UNC Football ticket allotment
Where is the parking for the 3000 tickets allotted to UNC? Second question...When they show up and don't have a place to park and get back to the powers that be, UNC future scheduling, will it affect future scheduling opportunities??? I assume the 3,000 getting tickets will be large donors to the UNC rams club.

Screw them. Park them in West Jefferson. If we beat them again, we won’t have to worry about getting them on the schedule again anyways.

It would be nice to have something where they can park and ride. I did that when they hosted us. They don't need to be close enough to walk but a spot seems reasonable for any ticket holder.appstate24 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:34 pmScrew them. Park them in West Jefferson. Are we using the 105 campus for anything beyond dreams right now? Unless it is strewn with broken glass bottles and old rusty nails it seems that space could be used for something like parking while we build it out for softball, track, and more. There was a parking lot for the school at one time and even parking on grass and gravel is better than no parking if the parking lot asphalt has been dug up already.

Re: UNC Football ticket allotment
I know ticket allocation is part of the negotiations with scheduling but have we ever had that many away tickets allotted?spacemonkey wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:27 pmWhere is the parking for the 3000 tickets allotted to UNC? Perhaps they rent out some pasture land in Fleetwood. Their big donors could provide transportation for Rams Club and move them over to KBS while dining on hors d’oeuvres, wine and cheese in route.

Shatley Springs is closed until further notice (Which in itself is sad). Plenty of space out that way...why not push them out to Crumpler?

Crumpler is a small coal community in McDowell County WVA - Way too good for the arrogant holes

Regardless of how we feel about UNC-CH, this parking situation makes us look bad.

Re: UNC Football ticket allotment
Not talking about creating parking. Just saying how it will look to them with them buying tickets and not having a place to park. I've never been to a game anywhere that I couldn't find some place to park.

105 campus is a giant parking lot full of students automobiles....McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:40 pmIt would be nice to have something where they can park and ride. And a nice new track and field venue....

I've gone to a few games at Kenan. It was brutal finding somewhere to park. Plenty of places on the Parkway or Banner Elk.

Re: UNC Football ticket allotment
While I don't disagree with you, usually the first post on the Cabin for any new away opponent is where do we park/tailgate? As good hosts, we should have some type of solution for visiting opponents (even for UNC-Cheat). Now, that solution could be the High Country Fairgrounds or App Ski Mountain (both of which would have restroom facilities).
If you strive to be the best 30,000 seat stadium in the country, you have to provide parking, tailgating spaces, traffic control, etc for crowds of 30,000. (and the Luke Combs concert last year should have exposed some areas for improvement.)

Re: UNC Football ticket allotment
This will sound like I am kidding but I think the numbers might work out ok. Back when I was in school, (APP) I was running late for an important exam and parked somewhere I was not supposed to park. I knew I would be booted and have to pay the fine. I think you could pull up at the front gate and get out and allow your car to be towed and pay the tow bill and end up not too far off from how much a parking space is starting to cost. I don't know how much a tow bill is these days in Boone. Especially if it is just one game when you know it is going to be crazy.
Best option may be to pull up, get out, enjoy the game and find your car after.

I would hope we have made arrangements, I think Watauga High would be idea and bus them in. When I have gone to UNC games I parked at Friday center and took bus (it is 2-3 miles).

We’ve had 30k for many games. I’m sure those highly educated folks from the hill are smart enough to figure it out.
Why are we acting like we owe these visiting fans something we’ve not offered others.
My goodness.
