NEZ Barber
How does the barber/hair stylist work in the NEZ bottom floor?
Is this a full time employee or does someone come in once a week? Volunteer? Is this for football only or all student-athletes? Does band and cheerleading have access? Are different stylists available for men's and women's styles of hair and various types of hair types and the styles those hair types tend to have?

As of last year Jacoby Pinckney was the team Barber. Well that’s what he told me when I was there.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 11:32 amHow does the barber/hair stylist work in the NEZ bottom floor?

Re: NEZ Barber
Deadlocks are grown and maintained by the individual. A barber can shape/line someone up with dreadlocks, but the locks themselves are going to be maintained by the individual. Maybe you're thinking of corn rows? Which, those would need to be braided by someone else, but that's usually not your typical barber.

I assume an employee then. Full time or part time? Next time you talk with him try and get some details without being overly nosy. I am just curious how those small things that are turning into recruitment tools now works.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 6:15 pmAs of last year Jacoby Pinckney was the team Barber. Re: NEZ Barber
When I took a tour of the NEZ facility, they were looking for a barber for the spot. So I imagine that it is a licensed employee. If I think about it, I will ask.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 7:42 amI assume an employee then. Full time or part time? What about the ones who wear their hair straight up on top into a bushy look?

I'm just concerned about whether or not the African American student athletes get the same privileges as do our other athletes. That's all.

Re: NEZ Barber
I have found that their is more difference between men's barbers and hair stylist for women than between long stringy north European hair I have and a tighter curls of other hair types. But I am just one data point.
I would be more concerned if the women have a chance to use the facilities if they choose.
