Just got this email! I have parking not what I ask for but at least its on campus. Can we just play football now? Go App!

Edited to say glad they worked this out!

Yes it will say "Yosef Parking" on Order History.
Just click "Yosef Parking" & it will show your parking location.

Next year would be a perfect time to rework and implement updated parking policies as the donations per ticket required will be changing. Seems these 2 things go hand in hand and it would be great if they addressed them both at the same time and the beginning of the new ticketing would be the perfect time. We may have a lot more movement with parking spaces next year, people moving up or down, or not getting parking at all, since required donations will be going up, or people who already give beyond minimums getting upgraded.
The Holmes lot will go offline next year too. Where will these folks go?
Holmes lot does go offline but that slack probably gets picked up bu the lot going in at Bowie and Eggers. I think that new Holmes Deck will add enough spaces to support those in Peacock while that’s offline. After that, we should be good for parking without issues.
Peacock addition/renovation and Edwin Duncan renovation are hoped to be started in fall of 2023 so if that timetable holds there will be a loss of spaces in Raleigh/Peacock lot for the construction project....

The new lot at Bowie eggers should be about 135 to 150 spaces I think that there were 60 or 70 behind the buildings already. The Holmes lot is 100 spaces.
Did the website say when the Holmes deck will be completed?
It's disappeared from the list of current bid projects on the App State planning projects group page. Previously there was a posting for design bids and there were details on the preferred locations and designs with two options are cast in place or precast. Precast was less expensive but will take longer to be in queue for production from whoever produces those giant things off site. I think the hope is to have it online for fall of 2024 that's a pretty ambitious and quick timetable in this building environment...

Sure would be nice if we could just carbon copy the new precast parking deck over by the new dorms...

Sorry that was my fault, I meant to direct that towards the ones that just got the additional parking. Wondering what new location they secured.

Nice! Just out of curiosity, where is your parking? What parking were they able to add?

Hmm, I’ve been trying to defend Yosef Club, at least to myself, but with what I’ve been hearing things don’t add up. I’m beginning to think there were some mistakes made in assigning parking.

The story on the new Holmes Center Parking Deck in the Watauga Democrat from March 28, 2022 said "...with a goal to complete construction and have the deck open by fall 2023." Sad to see it may be a year or more later than that. Those 600 parking spaces sure will come in handy in the future. According to a Winston-Salem Journal article from around the first of July, the Governor signed off on a bill that passed both the State houses approving the sale of up to $20 million in bonds to cover the parking deck.

Parking decks really do help especially when land is scarce. They aren't the greatest for a tailgate unless you get a rooftop spot. If we had a massive plot of land like State has outside CF that would help. Of course every Sunday after a game it would be a mess for someone to clean up.

What was previously posted also detailed that there are tremendous amount of underground utilities under that parking lot including the major fiber runs that all have to be relocated. Other thing to keep in mind it's not 600 new parking spaces it's 500 new parking spaces cuz there already are 100 parking spaces sitting on the ground there.....

What was listed gave all of the details of building the new deck in two different locations in a total of four configurations it was pretty interesting. The other location was in a portion of the bottom part of the hill lot up the street.

All I want to know is if I donate at the Big "A" level ($2500) next year can I finally get a spot other than Legends

I joke, but it does bring up a good point that a simple question like that can legitimately not be answered under our current system.

It seems to me that when all the new lots are done, they may need to do a complete overhaul to the parking assignments. Maybe something like Carolina did this year.

I am no engineer, but when I was at App I thought a parking deck built above varsity gym would be a great place to add parking spaces. It would have an easy turn in from river street and the gym is down in a valley. I would think you could build it above it without touching the gyms/building. It could be one huge one floor outside deck or they could make it multiple levels.

What I would love to see is this:
1. Pay your Yosef Club Dues (and season tickets) by 5/1/XX
2. For those who have done so, allow them to choose their parking spaces by Priority Points in May. (Maybe do it in blocks of 250 or 500 at a time.) This would be done just like you choose concert tickets or airplane seats.
This would even allow groups to choose spots together.

At this point, all who are in good standing would know their parking assignments in June.

After the initial reservations are complete, allow any other renewals or new season ticket holders to choose their parking spaces based on contribution levels and what is left.

Another major challenge at Legends is getting students to move their cars out of the lot prior to games. Last year, there was towing going on during tailgates and the upper lots behind Doughton (which will be needed this season) were half full of cars from students who just ignored the request. Just another piece of the puzzle (especially with a Noon kickoff for the opener)

Bush league and cowardly. I’m convinced they knew about this all along and waited till now to tell us. I have never had a positive experience dealing with the Yosef Club and I started contributing at a low level back in the 80’s. Gonna cool off a little, but this may be the straw the breaks the camel’s back. North Greenville College is right up the road from where I live and I think they would appreciate my $500/year donation and season ticket purchase more than Yosef does.
While I still feel the same about many of the points I made last week in the attached post, I do want to acknowledge that I have had a good conversation with Associate AD Patrick Ransdell. Without getting too deep into the weeds, Patrick dug into my situation and discovered where the problem was with me not getting parking. He took steps to correct the issue and now I have parking. Not parking at the promised level, but parking. He joined the department in January and inherited quite a mess and he is working to fix the problems and modernize the process. Again Patrick, thanks for spending the time to listen to me and to help resolve the issue. GO APPS!

This has been a major worry of mine as well. Last year I was able to get my nephew a Legends pass for the Elon game (1st home game of the season, AND a 3:30 kickoff). The tow trucks were in full swing when I got there about 10:30, but I got parked no problem. Nephew didn't get there till about 1:00, and was turned away (told the lot was full), even with a pass. He did find a spot on the hill behind Doughton, but that put a bad taste in my mouth. They should probably get a message out, and start towing Friday night with the UNC game being a noon kickoff.
