Biggest Impact RB projection
Alright look - we consistently have an onslaught of running backs who abuse opponents on a regular basis, I’m not asking who has the most yards EOY for running through garbage defenses. Rather, key games, big moment games, UNC, A&M, Louisiana. Which RB do you think makes the biggest impact?
For me, I love all these dudes, noels speed, Harringtons vision. But it’s gotta be Peoples for me, dude is huge, dude is mean, dude knocks people over... I fully expect healthy doses of peoples during these key games.

The good news is that we have so much talent that we don't have to depend on just one but Peoples has the skills to be that guy. I hope he has cleaned up some things and stays healthy. He will be almost impossible to shut down in the Sun Belt if he can.TheAppalachianState wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 10:56 amAlright look - we consistently have an onslaught of running backs who abuse opponents on a regular basis, I’m not asking who has the most yards EOY for running through garbage defenses. Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
If Cam can learn how to pass protect, he will be our RB1. If he's still struggling with pass pro, he may be RB3 behind Noel and Chop.
Injuries didn't help Cam last year, but his sub par pass protection and fumble issues were also factors in him not seeing the field as much as fans would like.
He has all the tools. He has the size. He just needs to put it all together.

The buzz is that he is improving. The pass protection issues have no excuse because he has the physical tools to be a great one. Let’s hope he has put it together because we could be in for a special season if he has.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 2:27 pmIf Cam can learn how to pass protect, he will be our RB1. It's Cam's year to shine. If he stays healthy, he can put up 1200+ yards and 12+ TD's. Hopefully secure a 3rd-5th rd draft grade too.

Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
NFL teams use grades from the junior pro days to decide how they use resources for the fall and Peoples has 4th round grades from I'm hearing, which I and many here think are high, so they are either projecting he cleans up those issues or he could go 2-3 range if he does. Peoples, Hampton, Jones, Hodges, and Brice are on everyone's lists and the first 4 are going to be the reason why we see College Scouting Directors and not just area scouts come through Boone.dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:18 pmIt's Cam's year to shine. Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
From a straight power standpoint, you're right. But Cam does have ball security issues.
Can you imagine the meltdown if it's 4th and 1 and he fumbles it? "OMG, why would they even put a guy in that has fumbling issues in at that moment?"

Personally, I would like to see both Peoples and Noel in the backfield in those situations...and/or Harrington. If 4th and short, feel it keeps defense guessing and you only need a yard or two. If 4th and 3 and beyond, that brings in the more of the passing game in the equation. Noel is a pretty darn good pass catching RB

Kanye Roberts gets to wear the coveted App State #14. Looking forward to seeing him perform over the next 4-5 years. I believe KR will continue the legend of #14 being a leader and on the field difference maker for our program. The future is bright. Click on the link below to learn more about this RB baller.

Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
With the stable of backs we have, cant see it unless we have major injuries. Maybe the allowed 4 without burning the redshirt, but otherwise we will need him the next few years much more than this oneTheAppalachianState wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 10:08 pmNow this will be interesting to watch and see if he gets play time this year... 14 is quite special

Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
I think folks need to temper the expectations for Roberts this early. Roberts has potential for sure but he has not played a snap yet. I would guess the coaches want to redshirt him due to depth so if we see him it is because of injuries at the position. Just think as good as Noel and Peoples have been there was not this type of buzz on them. You never really know for sure with high school recruits because there are so many variables beyond gaudy stats and good film.TheAppalachianState wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 10:08 pmNow this will be interesting to watch and see if he gets play time this year... 14 is quite special

Re: Biggest Impact RB projection
Armani Marshall is also 6'2 225 lbs. So I say you run two back sets, send 17 in motion, then you have a 4.3 guy who could get the ball, Chase, Peoples, or Marshall who are all three between 225 and 235 lbs behind what is likely going to be App's biggest offensive line ever.
Clark wanted to get bigger. The team got bigger. Time to effectively deploy that size and be the more physical team again.

He could've taken 28 as well. The last KR to wear that number did pretty well.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:47 pmKanye Roberts gets to wear the coveted App State #14.
