Or this...This seems more conducive to our needs. Put the band in the seats and more students section (wrap around to where its at) in the grass. The other have the seats GA
I like the layout in this.
Even put the seats below
Honestly, either way works.

In last nights YC Zoom call, details of stadium configuration for the Carolina game were laid out. 3,000 temporary bleacher seats are going to be placed in the South End Zone. They announced that they will remain in place for the entire season. This might be a test run on bowling in the stadium.

Reread the OP and saw the word SOUTH.
Haha. The masses in the NEZ would have rioted if they left those stands up.
It wouldn't have been surprising after the broken awning promises.
I think there was more to that story than they are letting on. The construction snafu that necessitated the columns under the stands probably factored in.

The wife was definitely not happy that the awning was cancelled...but we moved on and extended our contract for a longer period..

It’s been hours. Surprise we haven’t had anyone with photoshop skills render some mock ups.

I know a lot on here really love Miller Hill. It does add a nice aesthetic and we've made it work for a long time. I think we're fast approaching the time when it just isn't going to continue working. Any kind of inclement weather (major issue in Boone) impacts the ability to use Miller Hill. The idea of charging the increased prices for a grass seat has got to be an issue. Personally, I think it LOOKS nice but I never liked sitting on the hill. The reality is that, the easiest, most cost effective way to increase seating in KBS is to add seating in the South end zone. When it happens, I just hope they do it well. I have faith that they will.

Just to clarify, they did say they ARE putting temporary seating in the north end zone as well, but only for the UNC game. They will take them down afterwards and leave the south end zone all year. At least, this is what was said on the call.

I have no great love for the hill, having to run up and down it for our wind sprints at the end of practice in the late 60s.

I never cared for the hill when we had the track, because the middle of the hill was 50 yards from the near end zone. I haven’t been on the new hill, but in the end it’s still a hill.

Back in the 60s, wasn't it called Miller Mountain? The soil has just settled some since the 60s😁

Not a fan of this. The hill is part of the college undergrad experience. It's part of the alumni with young children who can only attend a game or 2 yearly at Kidd Brewer experience. Until we continually fill up the current permanent seating other than our high profile games, I don't see the need for this permanent change. It's part of what makes our stadium unique / nostalgic in todays college atmosphere. So many other schools have made this move over the past 20 years only to see those seats empty in today's changing college atmosphere. Jmo

I graduated in 2007. From 2002 to 2022 I think only ever watched 1 game from the hill. It won’t bother me a bit if they put permanent seating there.

I disagree.

We have 25,500 actual seats and we have attendance far greater than that number now for every game. There are a little over 5k in seating for students but yet closer to 10k students attend. The students deserve some seats on the hill.

For one, post-covid season, we had attendance greater than the actual seats. 2023 and 2024 will be the real test for whether or not we need to expand seating. The Carolina game will drive season ticket sales this year. But, the increased seat prices, parking prices, etc will kick in over the following two seasons. We have non-conference home games with ECU and Gardner-Webb in '23 and Liberty and ETSU in '24. When we get to the end of 2024, we'll know if full capacity attendance is a blip or a trend.

Also, I'd much rather see the temporary bleachers on the pad in front of the scoreboard (assuming the sound system doesn't blast those seats for the entire game), with the hill still accessible.

Keep in mind that we also have Marsha, Coastal and Southern at the Rock in 2023.

I get your point on the bleachers but putting them up on the pad would create bottlenecks with traffic.
