Re: App Pro Day
Bruh, I love my Apps, but comparing Henni at this point to arguably the beat WR in the NFL is a stretchApple@chin1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 9:53 amT. Henni reminds me of Cooper Kupp in almost every way. Look up his 2017 Combine results. If given the opportunity, I think TH will perform similarly at the next level.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 5:04 pmI know personally I have heard some numbers here and there but it will be a day or so before the official stuff makes it way around past the scouts in attendance. I don't know if Moose got them yet though. I'm anxious to see how a few of them did.
I did hear concern that Hennigan ran 4.6s. His speed is big question so hoping for him it is closer to 4.60 than 4.70 could be difference between tryout or contract.

Re: App Pro Day
This is exactly what I was intending to say. My comparison wasn't based on Cupp's current status as the best in the NFL, but rather their similarities coming out of college. There really shouldn't be any argument. They're surprisingly similar.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 10:36 pmRight now, you're 100% correct. Kupp, as of this moment, is light years better than Henni. I don't think Henni would even argue that.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 7:53 pmNot even close. They are both white. That’s where the comparison ends.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 9:53 amT. Henni reminds me of Cooper Kupp in almost every way. Look up his 2017 Combine results. But, coming out of college, they are very similar players.

Will there be a App State Player drafted? If the answer is yes, who will be drafted first?

Re: App Pro Day
DeMarco will go on day two. Virgil thinks he will be day three. I'm picking Sutton as a sleeper for day 2. Hennigan day 3 or preferred FA. Meech day 3 maybe??

Re: App Pro Day
Jackson will go first probably round 5 (day 3) then it's really guessing, I think it will be Virgil but I've seen Jolly and Meech as 7th round. The question is how many get drafted? Pretty sure two maybe three.

Re: App Pro Day
My guess is one - Jackson - both McShay and Kiper have him in the ballpark of 135-155 of top 300 available -

Re: App Pro Day
It’s really a big guessing game, particularly after the first 15 or so…… much like the ratings of 3 star high school kids……..back to the draft, just saw CBSSPORTS guy Chris Trapasso has Jackson in 5th (said if he was a couple of inches taller would be a second day guy) and had Meech going in the 6th……

Re: App Pro Day
Well my buddy, they have as much as an idea as anyone - sure it's a guess for everyone - and they certainly make wrong picks (both ways) but I would guess they probably hit around 90% of all the picks - BTW, that both had Jackson as the 12th ranked ILB -

Re: App Pro Day
Kiper lost me when he was pimping Jimmy Clausen as a good pro QB. Turns out they had the same agent. Mike Mayock was far and away better than those two. But yes, it is a guessing game by in large.

Re: App Pro Day
Also, Kipper mispronounced Appalachian on the Marty and McGee show this past Saturday when talking about D'Marco Jackson. How does a talking head whose whole career is linked to college football for years still screw up our name?

Re: App Pro Day
Anything can happen once they get down to the 6th-7th round but I believe Jackson is our only draft pick and goes in the 4th or 5th round. Taylor did not test like a short guy needs to, Sutton has medical/character flags, Virgil is stiff and too raw at WR, and Jolly was very small and just has average speed.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 7:43 pmWill there be a App State Player drafted? 2023 is the better chance at multiple draft picks for us.

And that’s why I will be watching the draft on the NFL Network tonight, instead of the four-letter.
