I see he announced a make up date of sept 2. Isnt there a pretty important event on sept 3. Never expected him to show.

Luke will wear a jersey of almost every school where he has a concert. It’s called smart. Church seems singularly focused…that doesn’t seem smart.

Personally it stings a little. When I was a senior singing in the Higher Ground acapella group at at APP we had a freshman named Luke from Asheville come audition and get into our group. The next week I brought him to FanFest at Appalachian with us and the guy has donned black and gold ever since. He has however always been UNC basketball fan as a kid born and raised in Western NC. Sadly this is nothing new to APP basketball. Until our hardcourt Apps have sustained and continued success it is hard to take the UNC DUKE NCSU and even WAKE out of their NC youth. Now if App could pull a St Peters and make an elite 8 run against UNC. I would bet dollars to doughnuts Luke would be the loudest most rabid App fan you would ever wanna see. Unless of course he had a concert coming up soon and needed to save his voice.

I just checked with people at the top and unfortunately we’ve moved Luke to BUMCON 3 from BUMCON 5.

Yes.

Luke being there doesn't bother me, he's been forward and very public about his love for App . I'm all App and don't have a #2. But, I understand there are many of us who are App first and continue to root for the team they grew up pulling for as well. We have to admit there's not a lot of App fans from birth (myself included - although I am raising my kids that way). I don't know either personally - but from the outside - Luke seems to be an App fan first that also pulls for others. I'm OK with that. Eric comes across as many did when I was there ('93-"97) that when asked would say "I go/went to App but I really pull for fill in the blank ACC/SEC school". I just don't have any respect for that. He may provide a ton of support to App and it's at least rumored that he has a suite at KBS - but the public support and gushing fandom for UNC is sickening.

Doesn't bother me a bit. He's at a UNC game and App isn't involved. If UNC were playing App and he wore that shirt (don't think he would), it would bother me.

Luke has done a lot for App. He represents App well. Mentions App in almost all of his videos. Wears the Black and Gold. Constantly comes back to film videos in Boone. He uses his platform to put App on a national stage. The other guy wears baby blue, attends UNC football games when App is playing 90 minutes away, has hype videos playing at UNC DURING THE APP VS UNC GAME. One of these things is not like the other.
I always cringe when I see anyone wearing that shade of blue, but we cannot disown someone for cheering for even that team, when they have repeatedly supported App and actually claim App as their own, unlike EC.
