Putting the “L” in Louisville

Scott Satterfield finishes below .500 with a 31-28 loss to Air Force. Ouch.

Bryan Brown’s D struggled particularly in the first half and the last drive of Air Force.

He can go back to his mansion, have the butler fill the tub with $100's and soak it all in.👍

As much as we hate it, he made the right decision. He set his family up for generations. Look at Jason Candle at Toledo. He was also a hot name for a big time coaching job during our two bowl games against them. He chose to stay at Toledo. He has yet to move up. In this profession, you never know when it's your last day. You have to protect you and your family's future and move up.

The same fans that want to fire Shawn Clark for 10-4 are the ones that think Satterfield should have never left App for Louisville. Quite comical.

Personally, I do not believe Satt's story has played it's course. The program was in disarray. The talent level was not there. It was a full rebuilding project..I believe he would have been given a couple of more years if things played out like it has with no other hiccups. The interest in SC job was a bad look. Given that, I believe he has next year to achieve a winning season. If he can get to 8 he definitely gets some heat off him. 2022 season is a big one for him in my opinion. Time will tell if he gets time.

I agree that his story isn't played out....not by a long shot. Even if things don't work out at Louisville, there will be a program that recognizes his talent so he will get another shot. I still think that he will get Louisville on track if given a real chance.

Hopefully the new athletic director really will give him reasonable expectations for next season.

Louisville is a mess. Either John Swofford and the ACC really picked poorly with all of their expansion choices over the last two decades or membership in the ACC is toxic to athletic departments.

He has another year it would seem , to show significant improvement.Wins over losses .Beyond that I doubt it.Worst case he will land softly as an assistant somewhere.

Trivia. Swofford is a Wilkes County native.

When they admitted Louisville to the ACC I knew any standards to join had evaporated. I was then shocked that Scott would associate his good name with them. My very best guess is that there are a few universities that will not hire a coach from Louisville.

Being you mentioned Louisville I thought the Cards got a lot of favorable calls in last night BB game with WF.

Taxes will eat up his long term financial windfall from Lewey ville. So as far as one said his family is set for life...that's a maybe and that's all.

Too, he always said he bled Black and Gold. Yep, bled black and gold until the gold came from Louisville. Guess his blood was red just like ours.
Having said that, it would not surprise me in the least if he came back to App in a couple decades to a role in our athletic administration. Perhaps even as AD.

G5 coaches have to pay taxes similar to P5 coaches...just on a much smaller amount. Not only Satt getting the comp from university, the shoe company deal allocation is much larger I would believe as well..for me anyway, it would be life changing money

Me, too, but I wouldn't know how to spend that kind of dough.
