Interesting little find, especially results of the poll and comments. Not much to the article though.

Reminded me that I thought we had a future scheduling announcement coming up weeks ago?

If you are an AppState fan and you want to see the NotreDame game...Click the link and vote yes. They will not know that it is AppFans voting. If we can get that up to 80% maybe they will take notice. It is worth a try.

Scroll past it and read the comments.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I will be surprised if this game happens but I would love to see it. The comments are, for the most part, pretty complimentary of App.

Back in '07, would it have been bigger if we would have beaten Notre Dame?

No way! Beating ND would have been big, but in 2007 Notre Dame went 3-9 and opened with 5 straight losses. Michigan was ranked 5th when we played them, which was part of the hype. Michigan finished at 18th with a win over Florida (Tim Tebow).
No FCS/DI-AA team had ever beaten a RANKED FBS team. The luster would have been GONE from a ND win by the end of the season.

I agree, App beat College Football 1 September 2007.

DG recently said there might be some "interesting" scheduling news coming up. Could it be??

Heritage of College football. There could be a case made that college football in the US as we see it today, may not have happened without Notre Dame. Notre Dame football started in circa 1887. Do a little research on Grantland Rice (I have an autographed bio of Grantland Rice), Knute Rockne, The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame, etc. Rice was one of the very first sports casters.
There was a time when every Catholic boy's dream was to play football at Notre Dame. A guy in my civic club attended a Notre Dame game in South Bend a few years ago and said it was the epitome of game day experience.
It's a shame how that heritage has faded in recent years.
