2022 UNC Game
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but does anybody else (or everybody else) fully expect this game to be moved to Thursday or Friday night? No doubt it will be televised, but does it get a Week 1 Saturday slot? The only thing that might make me think otherwise is that they have a Week 0 game against FL A&M, and that would put them on a short week.

Re: 2022 UNC Game
If this game is played under the lights it's going to be the most electric atmosphere ever in Boone. Would be nice if they could somehow get capacity to 40,000 because the stadium is going to be rocking.

Re: 2022 UNC Game
I don’t see it being moved to a weeknight for the reason that you mentioned. No need to make a team playing in week 0 play on a five day turnaround.
DG is working to get as many seats as the fire Marshall will allow in place for the game.

Re: 2022 UNC Game
I wouldn't be opposed to a Friday night game in Boone if it allowed us to have ESPN all to ourselves. Gives UNC one less day, but they're playing Florida A&M at home... they'll be ok. Not sure what other games are scheduled for Friday of Week 1, but likely less appealing ones (From a national audience perspective) than what's offered on Saturday.
Also, gives an extra day to prepare for Texas A&M

Re: 2022 UNC Game
That is an honest concern within the Athletic Department. And quite honestly, ticket purchases are an issue with YC as well. I for one would like to see App take the approach that the NHL has taken with out of town fans. In those instances, if you are a season ticket holder and you sell your tickets to out of town fans, you run the risk of losing your rites to those seats.

After seeing social media posts from last night’s basketball game, I was sick to my stomach how many App grads were wearing weak blue.

A sizeable UNCheat group will be at the game. It's unavoidable. The same would happen if NC State came. Spouses, delinquent offspring, that friend who always comes with, deplorable Wal-Mart fans, etc...AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 4:26 pmThat is an honest concern within the Athletic Department. But if you see a large group of that scourge sitting in seats regularly occupied by App faithful the normal ticket holders should be reported to the administration as traitors.

Re: 2022 UNC Game
it is better all the way around for a Friday night game. If Saturday game with other games scheduled....this is may be relegated to the ACC Network. it is important to us....but not on the natiional scene. Not sure who else is playing that Saturday that this game may be in competition with.
Then have Luke Combs perform on Sunday

I may consider selling tickets to a UNC fan for a ridiculous sum of money and donate it to Yosef Club.

Re: 2022 UNC Game
Secondary market tickets are going to be upwards of $200 to $300 per ticket. How many UNC fans are going to pay that to see them lose?

Re: 2022 UNC Game
You'd be surprised. For that same amount of money they could really screw App State over. Won't say how because they might be watching, but I just hope they don't think of it.

Nor the parents of HS players (i.e. me)!!! Lol… selfishly, I’d take Thursday before Friday (but pray for Saturday). The place would still be at absolute capacity if the game is played at midnight on Monday!
