ESPN article 2021 CFB tiers

"So you're saying there's a chance ...

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns
UCF Knights
Appalachian State Mountaineers

...

App State has stunned college football before (see: Michigan), but this time it needs to win at Miami on Sept. 11, and ESPN's FPI gives the Mountaineers a 20.5% chance to get it done. If that happens, along with an Oct. 12 win at Louisiana, followed by a home win against Coastal Carolina the following week, Appalachian State would be in the hunt for a New Year's Six bowl. If Miami were to pull off its own stunner and win the ACC, it would be another historic win for the Mountaineers -- and an interesting discussion in the committee meeting room."

I haven't checked in the past week, but last time I did their QB was reportedly ready to start their first game after his injury last year, a remarkable recovery if so.

He's the real deal, possible Heisman candidate.

Are you saying, "Like McSorley was at Penn State when we played them in 2018?"

We had our chances to win that game if I recall. Our QB played head to head with the potential Heisman candidate that night. Why can't Brice outplay De King?

Brice doesn’t have to outplay any other QB. They don’t have skills competitions. Brice (or any App QB) needs to outplay the other team’s defense. I totally get the basic notion of QB v QB but it’s still stupid.

Favorite part of the article . . . no beach chickens. My guess is that Citadel, Kansas, Buffalo, UMASS OOC GaUnTlEt doesn't get them in even if undefeated. boo hoo. Bad year not to get Louisiana
