O line
Some time back I saw a post that a player was transferring from Western who had been a two year starter at center. I see that Baer Hunter is moving to center. Anybody know if this player is in camp? Hunter played very well at O line

Re: O line
Yes, in camp. Clark was noncommittal in presser other that he hopes be provides depth. The kid did not go through spring so little bit of unknown other than how he played at ECU. Will also have to overcome the deficiency in intelligence...why would anyone go to WCU if in sound mind,
On serious note, hope he comes in and is a beast!!

Re: O line
According to Cooper Hodge's media day interview, he say Helms is a mad man and was lighting it up in the weight room. He had first team All Socon honors last year and was starting center as a true freshman. He has played a lot of ball relative to some of our other guys. Whether he starts or not, I don't know, but its good to have someone with college game experience considering what a drop off we have after the starting rotation.

Re: O line
He is Parker Collins 2.0! He tips the scale at over 300lbs. According to some of his teammates, he runs to Howard’s Knob twice a week.

Re: O line
I will say this you have to have a mean streak to play center. Collins did. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think he was the one that blocked the Tennessee player clear into the parking lot on the first play it was awesome.

You are correct. And while you don’t want those types of penalties, that one set the tone for the rest of the game.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 2:58 pmI will say this you have to have a mean streak to play center. Check out Coach Cardwell's twitter post from earlier this summer. Helms is the big bull on the right in the O line group photo.GoBlack&Gold wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 1:57 pmSome time back I saw a post that a player was transferring from Western who had been a two year starter at center. The defense isn’t even going to see the QB before he gets a throw off. Damn.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 3:14 pmCheck out Coach Cardwell's twitter post from earlier this summer. Re: O line
Actually, I think Helms is the guy in the blue jeans in the back on the LHS of Cardwell’s pic. The face matches his roster pic a little better. But that brings to question, who is the large man on the right???

Re: O line
You are correct. Helms is the guy behind Lindsay and to left of Cardwell. The mountain posing as a man on the right is Luke Smith.

Re: O line
If I can be allowed to paraphrase Jerry Seinfeld and car reservations, "Anyone can run TO Howard Knob, but getting to the TOP of Howard Knob is the important part."

Actually that is impressive if he is doing that twice a week. I ran up a flight of stairs and was tired.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
