DB Coach Rowe to the Colts

What the title said. Going to the Colts as their new DB coach, so that's a third assistant that's left after Peterson and Braswell.

Colts are one of the teams who had him in the 6th round range during the fall. It would not shock me if they take him in the 5th round range now. We will find out just how much Rowe likes Sherm because coaches get a lot of input. If he really wants Sherm they will draft him. These coaches can be the difference and get a player pushed up 1-2 rounds on a team board easily.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:05 pmOuch is right, but I’m not surprised. I felt he would make it back to the league at some point, and really thought he would be gone before anyone else. Wonder if he lobbies for Sherm to Indy during the draft?
Maybe the Alabama pedigree and the NFL experience are clouding my judgement, but he looks the part for sure.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 11:24 amhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javier_ ... _football)

Agree he knows how to play the position. Can he coach “teach” the position is the question that needs to be answered.appstate24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 11:38 amMaybe the Alabama pedigree and the NFL experience are clouding my judgement, but he looks the part for sure.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 11:24 amhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javier_ ... _football)

GO APPS!!
Maybe that is where our more experienced coaches can mentor the lesser experienced coaches. If you don’t have the pockets of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State or Clemson then you have to be creative, develop it in house is a good approach. Dude knew how to play and probably had some good coaches teaching him. Sounds like a reasonable bet for Clark.
A bit of an understatement! His last year he was coached by the best DB coach in country, Saban. The man is beyond demanding of his dbs, he coaches them harder than any other position. You can also go back and see how glowingly Saban has talked about him. If Clark gets an endorsement from Saban(Im sure he will) and it is a personality fit I believe this would be huge for us, plus adding in the Tampa area for recruiting.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:32 pmMaybe that is where our more experienced coaches can mentor the lesser experienced coaches. Never a bad thing to have redundancy in a large talent pool. Especially if one of the guys is a local legend.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 3:01 pmDiBastiani covers Tampa now.NavyApp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:52 pmA bit of an understatement! They will get a good one. They are interviewing 6 coaches starting on SundayAppstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:26 amA really good DB coach is critical for our defensive scheme. We rely heavily on having lock down corners and striking safeties.
