The title says it. No commentary. Just curious what people see as 3 positives from the game and what are the 3 most important things to improve. Try to keep the debate to other threads, I just want to see the exact lists of people not a list and then 2 pages of banter to sift through before someone else throws up a list. Say your peace in one post.
Positives
1. I think our LB's did a decent job containing the run outside of a few Knox busters. They were able to clean up what the DL couldn't stop. Knox could have had 200 otherwise.
2. Our fans showed up. We have a great fan base.
3. Our DB/CBs held them to 11 receptions. Yes a few were big receptions but man holding a team to only 11 catches is huge. If that trend keeps up that will help us stay in a lot of games.
Improvements
1. Give Peoples the rock. He just has more of that it factor than the others. Not to totally discount them but he is just better and we need to better utilize, or our coaches need to recognize, some of our better players.
2. DL/OL, both sides got burned. They have to learn to work together and possibly communicate better on blocking. This may be a side effect of the type of linemen we've been recruiting. Marshall had a line like we use to. We need a leader to step up in each group.
3. ZT is not Armanti, Cadet, or Presley, he does not need to be running that much. Being mobile and being a true runner are very different. Playing off this I'm not sure ZT was totally comfortable with the play calling and what the plan was if a play busted. There never seemed to be much of a plan B.

Positive:
Considering the limited pressure our Dline placed on their QB, I thought our secondary was just exceptional. Particularly our CB’s.
They are as good as advertised.
Hennigan is a baller.
Zac is one tough guy.
Negative:
Tackling and angles. I’m willing to attribute this to limited practice from COVID, but we took some very questionable angles on approach to Knox yesterday and just flat out ran right by the ball carrier. I also think I could go back and find 10 different examples of our guys “tackling” by running at the ball carrier, going low and turning their shoulder with their arms at their sides like torpedos. Eventually to bounce off the ball carrier or just kind of roll on the ground.
Kicking:
Touchbacks are non existent
Chandler Staton FG% by year:
2020 - 0% (0-2)
2019 - 68.8% (11-16)
2018 - 75% (12-16)
2017 - 88.9% (8-9)
Somehow he’s gotten progressively less reliable with experience

Some humor and some serious items
Positive
1. LBs are better than planned. Although not as good as last year, better than expected even with missed assignments.
2. Hennigan is the real deal even with teams focusing on him.
3. Evans, TE, will have a meme for rest of his life...not michael jordan level, but take what you can get.
Negatives
1. Missed or blocked FGs
2. Kickoff special teams
3. One positive from original post referred to fan support...not really a positive about team play..so the original poster could actually only think of two positives.

Seems like we’ve done that for years. Satterfield even admitted that he liked to start out by seeing what the opposition was trying to do scheme wise and then adjust, which often resulted in us starting our behind.

Positives: hennigans a beast, virgil's touchdown catch, cornerback play.
Negatives: mental mistakes (turnovers, penalties), special teams play, defense not getting off the field on 3rd down.
Not a lot statically different between the two teams. Turnovers and inopportune penalties hurt. They controlled both lines of scrimmage. Can't make mistakes and win games

Hennigan leader on offense
Secondary is very good
Linebackers improving
Offensive tempo and play calling is not good (Thomas very pedestrian)
D-Line never came close to disrupting their freshman quarterback
Our kicker deserves every bit of criticism he gets

We need to recruit more defenders with hyphenated last names.

Positive is that even though we’ve turned the ball over 3 times in the red zone this year, it might not have mattered because we’d have missed the FG’s anyways

2020 is just a messed up year.
Positive- Hennigan, DB's, Peoples, overall defense has been better than I expected; option style plays seem to work better?
Negative- Defenses seem to know exactly what we are doing on every play; Play calling, design, rhythm, something is off on offense - the guys seem unsure of what they are doing; line play needs improvement. Special teams are back to miserable. Overall the offense is a huge disappointment
It's early and we have had a lot of coaching turnover. I hope we can get it together.

after watching highlights today from a more objective view....
positives: - as unmotivated as we looked, play calling concerns, players out, etc., we still had plenty of opportunities to win against a good team. If a couple of flukes didn't occur, we win or at least go to OT.
negatives: - someone mentioned serious concerns with strength/conditioning...I have to concur. We looked slower than we have in recent memory and got pushed around all day. I wondered during preseason if/how the covid downtime would affect this, but it didn't seem to affect Marshall.
- I sense that our players have a sense of entitlement, especially after hearing all of the preseason accolades about this being the best team we've ever had, recent success, etc.
- our left OT got beat all day, and the entire OL got pushed around most of the day...again, I have strength/conditioning concerns.
- we got out coached/out schemed
