Per Ethan Joyce (via Twitter), BoT has a conference call Friday. No other details but would assume it's regarding the HC.

We are all assuming that the meeting is about Clark and personally I hope it is. Let's remember that DG was in the loop regarding the status of Drink's return, so whatever decision is made, the process didn't start Sunday or Monday. It's still great to see what appears to be a quick turnaround on this issue, though.

I don't think this is for interim tag, but maybe I'm wrong.

The timing is very tight on retaining staff. This is the time when NFL teams and college programs are out laying the groundwork for staff rebuilds etc. Offers are on the table for a lot of guys right now and decisions need to be made so all parties involved can make informed decisions for themselves. The interim HC tag was already applied, that should be done and done. Any formal decisions now should be involving our next HC and possibly an AD.

I was wondering about this. I didn't remember the BOT being involved/required for naming an interim. That would seem self-defeating given the need to move quickly and the short duration. I didn't recall that step last year but it could be me, so thanks for providing this.

With early signing period starting on the 18th, this search is not going to be a lengthy one. No way a committee is formed (in my opinion). DG started working his process as soon as he found out Drink was likely to leave. It would make more sense for Friday to be for approval of the actual hire.

It is all but confirmed that Friday's teleconference will be for the permanent head coaching job, they will be going over the contract and will already have made the decision by the conference

Hopefully it is for the permanent head coach, so at least that is done so there can be more focus on pounding UAB and finishing strong.

Sounds like the BOT meeting on Friday is for HMIC, but could it also be to approve a new/revised contract for the AD??? Per Ethan, DG isn't going anywhere, so could something have changed there, also?
