Why in the living hell would a game be moved from Saturday to a Friday night if its not being televised!?!?!

The game has been listed as a Friday game pretty much all year. But it was moved from Saturday so it didn't compete in Alabama with the Iron Bowl. Not that unusual.

Has App ever moved a basketball game for Duke/NC?

Not that I'm aware of but given our desire to raise the profile of the program and give Coach Kerns the best chance possible at success, on the court and in the stands, we need to make sure to do anything we can to make the schedule as desirable as possible (read lots of Thursday/Saturday game schedules if possible). And in this state, to this day, that means it would behoove App to not have a home game on the night of a previously scheduled Duke/Carolina game, if at all possible. Unfortunately.

Different scenario in Alabama. Auburn is 75 miles away and the Iron Bowl would destroy attendance.

Yep and 90,000 don't attend basketball games

Yes. All eyes on the Iron Bowl in Alabama. That's a special weekend down there.
Is the game not on ESPN+? Although, I guess that's technically not TV.

Yes, as I posted in the second post in this thread, it is on ESPN+

Plus, Auburn/Alabama happens once a year. Duke/Carolina is guaranteed to happen twice and possibly three (or four) times in a season. Two hour basketball game vs. all day tailgate and game.

I didn’t take time to look back at prior seasons but this has to be our first season with only one away game that wasn’t on “real” tv. It is kind of odd that it’s on Friday and couldn’t get picked up on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

I’ve definitely been spoiled by real TV games this year. One of the many perks of winning and staying ranked.
Sad that this one will be on ESPN+

I just noticed that the UL/ULM game Saturday is on ESPNU at 7:30... Has that always been the case, or did they get “elevated”?

They just changed that about a week ago.

Are there any viewing parties near Charlotte for the game?

Angry Ales should have the game on with sound. Crown Station will probably have it on with sound as well in NoDa.

Not surprised the game is on Friday for no other reason than a conflicting schedule with the Iron Bowl. Many of the Troy alums I know in Atlanta will claim to be bigger Bama or Auburn fans than they are of their alma mater. Reeeeaaaaaalllllyyyy grinds my gears.
It feels damn good to be able to get through a football season without being apart of superficial SEC fandom.
