Once again we are going to lose so much talent on defense this year with Franklin, Thomas, Fehr, Cook, and ADG. Other than Huff, Hampton and Harrington, Which of our young guys do all expect to step up next year and fill the gap?

Cobb, Jackson, Taylor, Ross. All played a huge role last night. I think some of our 2019 freshman will come in next year and turn some heads. Roof and Co. Are setting a high bar for next year's Defense.

I hear Nick Ross has been known to make a play here and there.

How about on the D line?

Don’t forget that TD Roof transferred into the program before the beginning of the season. I’m expecting him to be a wrecking ball. We will certainly miss the graduating seniors that have played such an important role in the success of the program. And, maintained that success through the transition of coaching staffs. But I think that we’re in competent hands to make 2020 as good as, if not better than 2019. We’re very fortunate to have had this winning culture for as long as we have. It was evident on National TV Saturday night! #2020BeatEverybody

EJ Scott is the only senior on the DL, but he'll be a big loss, so it would certainly help if a couple young NTs could step up. Jordon Earle is probably the most obvious candidate, but we do have a few others on the roster.
At DE, remember Chris Willis has missed this whole year. Not sure what his injury is, but if we can get him back 100% that would obviously be a huge addition.

We lose some really good players but Davis-Gaither is the real deal and will be hard to replace. He was all over the field In Columbia.

AKD is an absolute monster! One of the best LB’s to wear Black and Gold... And that’s saying A LOT.
GO APPS!!

I have seen a lot of them and I would say he is the 3rd best we have had. If I had to rank our top 5 it would be:
1. Dexter Coakley
2. Dino Hackett
3. Akeem Davis-Gaither
4. Rico Mack
5. DJ Smith
I would also give honorable mention to Joe DiBernardo, Justin Seaverns, Jeremy Kimbrough, Brent David.

I would add stringer and Boggs to that list, maybe in front of Kimbrough. Putting them into the starting lineup turned the tide defensively that started us winning at the FBS level.
That being said, satt and drink have both done well recruiting, and while we miss seasoned vets, there seems to always be A very talented young guy that takes their place.

We should expect recruiting and signing to be at an all time best this year based on our continuing exposure and success.

This class looks good so far. But remember, Poaching season starts any day now.

Hard to imagine us not having a stellar recruiting class. We really have it going on. Starting to see more of the 6’3” 230 lb type linebackers. Left tackle will be the huge position on offense. Looks like we are fairly solid at DB, linebacker and DE. Need to get bigger in the trenches. Those big dairy farm boys in Wisconsin will be a load next year.

I can't wait to see what the recruiting class this year looks like. This staff will have an easy time convincing kids that Boone is the place to be.

Trying to rank the best App LBs is kind of like trying to rank the best App RBs. We have been truly fortunate to have a lengthy list of candidates with valid arguments for inclusion.
It's GREAT TO BE A MOUNTAINEER!

It's one of those things like death and taxes; App St. Will have stud LBs and RBs, regardless of coach or scheme.
