Ok APP nation, both these wins are huge. So here is a question, which win means more?

Does it just mean more in the SEC?

For me, it's an easy call. UNC because it's more of a blood feud with them. I can see an argument for SC because they're from the vaunted SEC but the Holes have lorded it over us and everyone else in the state (with nothing to back it up) for so very long that putting them in their place was as sweet as it gets.

Probably more for UNC being in state and some of our players being turned away by them.

SC, validates the season, walked in to that stadium at night on national TV and punched them in the gut. SEC road trip wins just mean more than ACC.

I think to our Alums it is UNC because most of you guys live in North Carolina and have to deal with their arrogant entitlement on a daily basis. But to the rest of us that don't live there and the rest of the college football world, I would say the South Carolina win was a better and more meaningful win. We dominated them on defense like few have this year and although I know UNC beat USC in the first game of the year, I think most college football fans see USC as a better football school. To me beating a SEC school (other than Vandy) is way more impressive than beating an ACC football team unless it is Clemson.

You nailed it dude. UNC felt better for sure but I think the USC win means more to the rest of the college football world. Crazy we're having this conversation right now.

UNC was bigger. I mean...we've already beaten USC in the past. Beating UNC is going to linger for a looooooong time. It's like whenever I see a giant yellow "M" on the back of a car window I involuntarily smirk kind of linger.

I just like seeing this on the ESPN post for this weeks college football......
"Close your eyes and envision a scenario in which a team that, just two years ago, finished 1-11 -- and is now among the final five unbeatens. Or a scenario where Lovie Smith is going bowling, where an SEC team gets housed at home by San Jose State and Western Kentucky in the same season, where Texas is celebrating another last-second win over a team from Kansas, and where Appalachian State owns both North and South Carolina"

Hindsight being 20/20, neither. App shouldve been favored to win this game given the injuries USC was dealing with. Vegas was playing the public response and not the rational pick here. App had 202 yards of total offense. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any other G5 over a P5 where the G5 had only 202 yards of total offense.

UNC was a big deal because it was an in state game, despite Wake being better in 2017, because it's the flagship. USC is going to buy out their return trip because they have the state legislature on their side. They were beat by The Citadel in recent history.

As low as UNC has gone, they've not lost to an FCS program.

Does anyone know the last team to beat UNC-CH and S. Carolina in the same season?
