Have we ever played before such an empty stadium?

They're 1-6 and this: happened earlier today in Mobile. I'm surprised there's as many people there as is.
Someone on reddit pointed out that non of the cameras can see the home side so the majority of the crowd is never shown.

Id say there were some games in our FCS days that had the same number of people in the stands, but obviously not in such a large stadium. There’s maybe 2k there?

Apparently it's their Homecoming. Seriously, this conference is bad.

Their beat reporter stated on the Black and Gold podcast that their Homecoming had been called off regardless of what these announcers are saying.

What does this mean exactly? All the people that came into town for the weekend decided not to go to the game? Or that they just didn’t even come and cancelled their hotels?

Festivities were cancelled. No parade, etc...

That makes sense. I guess I’m just wondering where all these people went.
I’m not downplaying the tornado, that’s awful. And the people effected, totally get why they wouldn’t be there or even care about NCAA football. There are things way bigger than football.
I guess I just feel like it’s an incredibly convenient excuse that a tornado somewhere in the area yesterday caused only 500 people to show up to an FBS game against a ranked opponent. There’s clearly much more going on there.
I want the Sunbelt to be respected and I want the Jags to be a part of that success.
This ain’t cutting it.

I don’t think there were going to be 15k there regardless of the weather, but I’d say most who had planned to go to the game are either at their hotel, or never came to Mobile.

There were more in attendance during the FCS days because we always had several thousand fans there

And because we were a big draw in FCS - fans got excited because the “big App State Mountaineers” we’re coming to town.

And there likely will not be 12K at Charlotte and the weather is fine.
USA is bad, the pregame weather was terrible and on top of that there was no tailgating to draw the social crowd.

Yeah right 17900.......apparently they counted those Halloween ghosts in the stands! There might, might have been 1790 when they let everybody in the neighborhood. In for free after halftime.
The league must not have consistent attendance reporting guidelines.
I believe App reports butts in seats while it appears they report what they hoped it would be.

God I wish we could at least move to the AAC. How many other ranked teams play in empty stadiums?
