Major Cell Network Issues

I was wondering if anyone else noticed how bad or well nonexistent the cell coverage was today in the stadium and honestly around Boone in general?

Before anybody says it doesn't matter watch the game I'm there every game in the stands an hour beforehand and don't leave until the clock hits zero.

I like to pull out the phone to look up scores of ongoing games that are a concern to us and football fans in general and it was not possible. Nor did I remember them showing scores on the board once during the game. I'm not looking to complain just surprised bc typically it's not great but it's good enough to check scores and what not.

Historically, I've had trouble with Sprint due to the "load" of users hitting the limited available towers around Boone (and those towers usually being owned by Verizon), but my phone worked great all day and had no issues keeping up with games.

What carrier?

I also have Verizon and its always bad in the stadium but today was the worst ever. Outside the stadium around town as well. I couldn't connect with anything.

AT&T was perfect for me.

My wife has Verizon and her phone was essentially a paperweight all day.

Mine was working before the game started and then not at all during game.Started working when i got back to Hickory. Must have been a verizon issue. Never had a problem before.

The internet during the game is a known problem. Really it’s a big left unresolved “game experience “ issue. They need to put boosters in the stadium.

Verizon here and absolutely no luck in stadium or on campus. I also like updates at the bare minimum of Sunbelt games and top 25 games. It was nonexistent on the big board.

I'm a Sprint network guy and historically I've always had pretty bad service in/around KBS...Boone at-large to a lesser extent. Yesterday, for whatever reason, the Sprint network was probably the best I have ever seen it in-stadium. I was able to pull up scores on the ESPN app quicker than ever and my iMessages/texts were going out and coming in easier than ever. Perhaps, any problems experienced by the Verizon network and users meant some "free space" for the usually second-tier (at least in Boone) Sprint network to operate more freely than normal. Either way, it was nice...if only for a day.

I have sprint and always have problems in and around Boone. It works great in Florida, except during major storms which I may get in the next couple of days. For me, I actually like that I get crap coverage in/around Boone bc I don't want my phone to ring when I am up there.

It’s a capacity issue not coverage for Verizon (for the most part). As changes continue to migrate towards 5G we will see more and more of this.

I was able to look up the UNC-USC score on my AT$T.
