Bleacher Report: Gamecocks have a tough schedule in 2019

They specifically reference how tough App State will be in November and expect SC may not be bowl eligible next year....

I will seriously be disappointed if we don't beat both Carolinas next year. If we play to our potential with the talent we have we could beat 2 P5 programs in 2019. Granted neither will be close to being ranked in the top 25 (short of a miracle) but it will be the best chance ever.

Wins over North Carolina and/or South Carolina, no matter what their record, means something.

It will be a little strange playing a P5 SEC team in the middle of our conference games. However, it’s certainly much better than playing an early September game in Columbia.

I truly expect to as well. I actually believe South Carolina will have a solid team but their schedule is so tough that if they somehow go 6-6 or 7-5 that is a good year for them. 8-4 or 9-3 would be a home run season and a top 10 caliber team probably. Just look at what their 2019 opponents did in 2018. Everyone in the SEC east went to a bowl game, Georgia is top 5 talent, Alabama and Clemson both in the playoff, we are SBC champs and pounded a top 2 CUSA team, plus they also have Texas A&M on the road, and Florida and Kentucky both were good this year.

I hope the Gamecocks have 2 losses and Troy is undefeated when we play them. That would be two huge games. If we go 12-0 with 2 P5 wins, ranked Gamecock and Troy teams, and sweep the SBC, then we should be ranked in the 12-18 range for sure.

I'm like Drink though. We need to take one game at a time. ETSU is a top 20 FCS team and someone who knows us well. We are the biggest game of every team we play and our schedule is no joke with 2 P5s, a very good Troy team, a tough FCS team, and the fact we are the Super Bowl of everyone we play makes our path tough. Truly have to take it one game at a time.
