Re: Clayton Howell-Freshman All-American!
Wow, I missed this post from the other day some how. This kid is awesome! I already thought he was a great punter, but this is a huge honor and outstanding representative for App State. These stats are crazy and well deserving to be a Freshman All-American:
"He averages 43.2 yards per punt with just one touchback, and opponents have been limited to a combined 61 return yards on his 46 punts. Only 15 of his punts have been returned, as there's been 11 attempts forcing a team to start a drive inside its 20-yard line and 20 attempts that have been fair caught.

Kansas RB Pooka Williams was charged with domestic battery and has been suspended from the team. He's on the 1st team list also.

Really impressed with our Freshman Punter. He laid into that 60 yard bomb toward the end of the 4th Qtr.

We also played a freshman long snapper due to injury. That’s a pretty big deal, first start in a Bowl. He did well, not perfect but very good.

That punt was a thing of beauty as it lifted and sailed through the air, you could feel the crowd's amazement , and then it bounced perfectly, which again drew a reaction from the crowd, and then downed at the one...crowd explodes. It was simply perfection by the special teams unit.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:01 pmReally impressed with our Freshman Punter. He laid into that 60 yard bomb toward the end of the 4th Qtr.
