I just got word from a pretty reliable source that negotiations are underway with Dwayne Ledford to become our next head coach.

Wouldn’t be surprised, he was definitely one of the 3 names I kept hearing as well.

I bet he could get some talented recruits to follow from Raleigh.

If the deal got done before the bowl, wonder if he'd be on the sideline.

My guess is he would not. Possibly in the box.

That works too. I think it would be great if who ever we hire is there in some capacity

Doesn’t he concern some folks.....

NC State really underachieved during his tenure with a bunch of talented guys. Obviously that’s not all on Him, but.....

completely the opposite is true.

I would very much approve. He would appear to be more of a gamble than some of the other candidates because he has no HC or solo coordinator experience, but man he ticks a lot of the boxes. I like his resume and background and think he is a guy that "gets" App State football.

Like I said, it may be more of an indictment on DD, but with the NFL talent they have had, NC State has indeed underachieved. I’m not saying Ledford has underachieved, in fact, he was in my top 3 of “known” candidates. I just got to thinking about how NC State has underachieved......he has done some nice things looking at how guys like Hines and Samuels have developed.....just trying to create dialogue...

As a former fan and current Wolfpack apologist I like Ledford because he's directly been involved with the Packs defensive line which has been historically good. Look at Bradly Chubb...

I'm hesitant only b/c of the Wolfpack under-performing juju that haunts that program. Every person who has watched ACC sports knows what I'm talking about.

We don't have that problem on the mountain though. Go 'Neers!! Beat MTSU!!

Agree. It’s a very casual atmosphere to get reacquainted with the fans.

An accomplished run game coordinator with our stable of backs to include Peoples, Evans, and others could be an exciting combination.

Definitely. Won’t be coaching obviously (unless it’s Ivey of course), but would be good to socialize with fans and do the in-game booth appearance with the announcers.

I guess he wouldn’t be bad, as long as he stays away from OL recruiting.

Does the fact that he is an ECU alum and former player bother anyone?

Why? Vince Dooley was an Auburn alumnus and is a UGA coaching legend. Pat Dye played at UGA and is an Auburn coaching legend. Our rivalry with them is nothing compared to that one.

I’d say it bothers him more than us.

You mean the guy that coached Kendall Lamm, Colby Gossett and Parker Collins? Yeah… Keep him away from that side of the ball! 🙄

Back when he was playing for ECU they were in the top 25, if memory serves me correctly. Therefore, no!
