Players reaction to Coach leaving...

Any word on how Coach Satt broke the news to the team and how they responded?

Not sure.

Many students around football seen pretty upset. I think the continuous "family" preach from Satt and staff feels bad when the adults all walk out on the family. It is certainly understandable to be hurt, mad, broken hearted, betrayed.....

Can we get a serious answer? Anything on Twitter? And if you didn’t see the Doug Middleton tweet look it up. It was awesome.

Middletown tweet was good. There are a number of former players offering good perspectives.

If you know how to, start a topic with former player comments.

Former and present players may feel differently from each other.

Ivey and DG met with them yesterday. They had practice today. From what I've heard, they are a close knit group and there are so many strong personalities on the team and current staff that they took it fine considering.

Been nothing but positive from the players from what I've seen.

As others have said, Scott created a culture that made them accountable to each other more so than to him. It will serve them well over the next 2 weeks and I get the sense that this group of upperclassmen are very mature.

I suspect many former and current players know the App program is bigger than any one individual.

Each will come and go hopefully contributing by making App better than when they arrived whether in the role of a player, a coach or both. They all support each other throughout their lives regardless of the circumstances of their departures.

That is the App culture.

We all know Satt gave his all and definitely left an indelible mark on Appalachian State forever. Jerry Moore passed the torch to Satt, now it was time for Scott to pass the torch to someone else.

I'm sure it's bittersweet. It's not like it wasn't expected and anyone who follows this program probably thought it was a strong possibility over the last three weeks. I'm almost willing to bet that DG probably keeps a list of 10 possible replacements in his desk the last three seasons just in case this very situation arose.

The boys have a bowl to win. With or without Satt. The team is bigger than one person, something they've proven on more than one occasion this year. Hopefully all of this isn't a distraction.
