Elliott and GaSt players run thru the App Band

I didn’t notice it Saturday at the game but I started watching the replay and looks like Coach Shawn and some of the GaSt players ran through the App band as the team came out to the field Saturday. Not much reason to do that especially if you’ve coached in Boone and know your way to the sidelines.

Maybe he got confused, started toward the west sidelines and his team followed.

Hope he enjoyed his trip to Boone. Best wishes on him being able to come home and get a a$$ whoopin every two years.

The band is about the only thing the Panthers ran thru on Saturday...….

I was not impressed by his coaching Saturday. Twice inside our 45 he punted on 4th and short. You are 2-8, go for it.

Exactly. Those are the decisions you make during the week - if we’re on their side on 4th down and short.....we’re going for it. If nothing else, it would have inspired his team.

I have been in section 111 for several years and have never heard that being yelled from the band or otherwise.

I only heard it once from a few students late in the 3rd after the rout was on.

I’ve never ever understood the conservative decisions made by coaches who are basically playing out the string- example Saturday. You are 2-8 with nothing to lose yet you punt in those situations? What is there to possibly worry about? Instead of losing by 30 it might be 37? I would personally love it if my coach pulled out all the stops if my team was playing for pride. Hell, go for it!

Where the band is sitting this year is directly in front of my seats. It 1000% came from the band (tuba players especially) along with a couple girls making obsecne gestures with the “ 3rd down” hand sign.
Your screenname indicates you may be a current/former band member. Is there any significance to the “countdown” the band does in the 4th quarter? I noticed it the past 2 games and the only thing I could tell it signified is the game clock hitting 4:20 in the 4 th quarter. Am I missing something or is it just *giggle giggle the clock says 420!** ?
Edit to add- to his credit the student leader/director (sorry don’t know band terminology) did call them out for the chant it and shook his head

My anniversary is April 20. Our kids joke that it’s National Pot Day- 420.

I met Elliots dad at Oscar's Pub there in Myrtle Beach a couple of weeks ago before the Coastal game. He was decked out in all GASt gear, but stopped me and talked a lot about App St and how his son enjoyed coaching here. Elliot is cool with me.... Cobb, on the other hand....

4:20 was time to light 'em up. I don't know why. At 12:00 it was time to turn 'em up. I don't know why. Lots of students in my day lit and turned 'em up way before the time.
