I heard this pronounced wrong for four day in Pennsylvania ...at least a thousand times.. not exaggerating!

But the stadium announcers got it mostly correct most of the day.

The article still fails to make the very simple point that the University has a proper pronunciation for it's name that is distinct from the mountain range or the region. It's really that simple.

I didnt hesitate to correct people including the former Vietnam Special Forces Vet who was our tour guide at Gettysburg....he did correctly say "FayetteNam"!!!!

There is absolutely no excuse for mispronouncing our name, especially in Charlotte for God's sake. We've been on the national stage long enough that it should not happen.

And sorry, I didn't mean it that way; I meant it like "they're a powerhouse among smaller schools" but I understand how it makes it seem like I was referring to I-AA.
