Appalachian State has lined up its fourth and final non-conference game of the 2020 football schedule.

Morgan State will travel to Boone on Sept. 5, 2020, serving as App State's season opener. Away games at Wake Forest and Wisconsin and a home game at UMass will follow, respectively.

The Bears play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Morgan State, one of the seven founding schools of the conference, went 1-10 last season.

App State will host the FCS opponent before back-to-back games against Power-Five opponents.

1-10? Can you say 1-0 for us?

Not thrilled with the opener but excited about going to Camp Randall in 2020. Also hoping for revenge when we travel to Kidd Brewer East to take on the Demon Deacons.

1-10 is pretty bad, but at least it's better than that 1-11 garbage we are playing this year. :D

My feelings exactly. Just hope this doesn't turn into the Liberty game or A&T State a few years back...

Wonder how season ticket sales will be affected the next three seasons. Not the greatest home ooc schedule. No major game to encourage people to buy.

The only encouragement I need is a Saturday in Boone watching my Mountaineers play.

Right. You, me, and probably most on this board. A season ticket isn't the only way to gain admission. If so we would see end of the Savannah State game size crowds at opening kickoff. All I am simple stating is, there will likely be single game tickets available for each home game. Why commit to a season package when you can make the decision closer to that weekend? I'm not suggesting attendance averages will be hurt.

Season tickets even if you don’t make all the games isn’t that big of a commitment. It helps the program.

Well, if you are retired and buy 8 season tickets, along with the Yosef dues and the expenses associated with the games , its no small commitment. Just sayin.

There are many other ways to help the program and university than to purchase tickets you don't plan to use.

Yes there are. My point was the dollars are no small commitment to many of us, regardless of where it’s directed.
I enjoy it and glad Im able to contribute but it is still no small commitment to many.

I was hoping for an opponent that would make the opener interesting, or at least if it’s FCS ,someone that would bring a few fans. A few beingmore than three.

I'm perfectly ok with this team getting an easy win to open the season before those next two opponents. May be a good thing for some young guys to get their feet wet rather then being thrown into the fire week 1. I plan on being at the Rock no matter who the opponent is.

I don’t know what all the fuss is about. By 2020, they will somehow be the first FCS team to be a preseason threat to crash the NY6.

Apparently Toccoa Falls doesn’t field a football team.

When App was FCS we all bemoaned the FBS teams ducking us. Now being FBS, I understand scheduling a perceived weak FCS opponent. FCS foes besides the upper crust looks to the same to everyone else.
