We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. APP gets honorable mention at coin toss
Mack Brown and two other HOF coaches. Mack announced as representing Appalachian State, tulane, unc and texas. They pronounced Appalachian correctly.

I didn't catch that. I'll take it. Would like to see UGA beat them by 21 plus.

That was unexpected and exciting in that setting! Mack Brown is a class act and I love his association with App. I was there during his short tenure in Boone...never faulted him for it but hated it when he left.

I know several people who are not Mack Brown fans because he supposedly left App for Oklahoma without informing his team. I have no idea of the validity of this. Anyone know for sure??

Re: APP gets honorable mention at coin toss
That story has been around since the mid-80s. I've always regarded it as a bit of an urban myth. The AD from those days, Jim Garner, is deceased. The only folks around who know for certain are Mack, his coaching staff at the time, his former players and support staff, AD emeritus Jim Jones and, of course, Moose
It's believable because Mack was extremely intense and ambitious. He was forever caught up in a sibling rivalry with his brother, Watson, who was a bit older and already a D-IA collegiate head coach (Cincinnati). Mack was a guy in a hurry to move up the ladder. In no way am I accusing him of not meeting with his App team. I just know him well enough to certify that he had lofty goals in life and he was intensely focused to achieve them. Immediately after the '83 season at App, Mack was in the running for several loftier HC positions...but he landed at OK as OC for one year.
One-year stepping stones were common for both Watson and Mack.
Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.
