That's nice praise (from, IIRC, a writer who was not always so kind early in the transition), but it is... not the most savvy analysis of college football.

I stopped reading when he called us “Appy State”. Glad he’s come to his senses tho.

For all the doubters that thought the move to FBS would be long and hard. We have conquered Buncombe County. I'll say no more.

9-4 with bad losses and close games we should have won easily. I don't think so. You can't base it off of the end of a season only. Especially when we've not even seen all G5 teams play their bowl games. I'm happy we finished strong, and very impressed with the ass whooping we gave Toledo, but let's slow down with the top G5 talk.

I do agree with how the article pointed out the better than expected transition to this point. That is something I think we can all agree with at this point.

To be a realist makes accepting a loss easier at times. I also don't pick around when I want to be a homer like most on this board (Compare football board to basketball).

Actually, I read it to mean over the course of our time as a G5. That may not be true either but I don't think it was in reference to this year alone.

Watching the bowl game, they had a graphic that showed our win total was only behind some big dogs and, while great and all, I find it dubious. Quickly looking Boise has a ton of wins during the period , as well. Troy, while great this year, has had a bumpy road to this year. I think we beat out Boise by a game.

Oh and they have beaten their fair share of P5s during that time.

We are top 10 G5 which is awesome for a program just graduating our transition class.

I kind of think of using the term "team" to refer to a specific year and program referring to a several year period. Alabama may not have been the best team in the SEC this year but they are the best program (at least for now). I think it is safe to say we are already one of the top programs in G5. We haven't lost to very many G5 teams in the last 4 years.

Best G5 team no. However there wasn't a G5 team the other night we could not have beaten.
