Read and share, read it again, and share this with others. Especially the fifth point, Lamb is a leader, and inspiration, and an App State legend.

Fans make a strong and lasting impression on recruits, and their parents.

Great article. The fans behind me in the stadium regularly put a damper on our game day experience. The ridiculous behavior is embarrassing. It is especially bad when I see high school football prospects laughing at the fans in attendance.

My goodness that was spot on. I almost never, ever read a column with which I agree with every word, but that may have been one.

Instead of towels over the seat backs, this article should be placed in every seat in the stadium for the next home game.

Someone should post this on App State Classifieds where a lot of grievances are aired towards the students.

I'm not sure if it's done everywhere but in my county before each high school football game the announcer reads a nice statement about sportsmanship which pertains to players and fans alike. Whether it sinks in with fans or not it's still good stuff.

I would like to add one:

The coaches cannot hear the big mouth jerk who is hundreds of feet from the bench who constantly yells crap like "it's a pass" or other such obvious mess. Even if what that guy says is true YOU CANNOT BE HEARD!

"I have been a season ticket holder since the 80’s. I have contributed to the Yosef Club for over a decade. I will yell shout and say whatever I damn well please when I am at a game and no one is going to stop me.
No one attending a game should be vulgar. But it isn’t. Church Service either. Every fan has the right to cheer or criticize the team however they see fit. All those coaches are big boys and get payed way more that most of the folks in the stands. There is a reason for that.
If you can’t handle it maybe you should Go to Sunday School instead of a football game. I think it would be a better environment for you."

This sounds like the red neck behind me in 215 Saturday.

At App. Two, maybe 3 coaches get "payed" way more than most folks in the stands. The other guys, doubtful.

True, and I notice he didn't comment on how much the players are getting "payed."

Yeah man, it's your First Amendment right to be a jerk and an idiot. We're just asking you consider not being one anyway.

Hey, we at GSU have in appropriate students as well. I was a student and rowdy at times, but today's student seems overly rude and disrespectful....sign of the times I guess.
