Marcus Cox.....5000? Career rushing yards

Can Marcus reach the pinnacle 5000 yd mark?
He only needs 40 more to put him in some elite company. Some alltime greats have left early or plagued by injury ....but here is a list.....can he surpass to get into top 20 alltime?

Can you imagine a 220 yard game would vault him past a two time Heisman winner? That would be quite the accomplishment.

I think the bigger accomplishment would be if he gets 1000. That makes him one of less than 10 folks who have had 4 1000 yard seasons. That shows remarkable consistency.

I agree, it'd be a weird thing for him not to get the 5,000 at this point, like he gets injured early in the game or while getting off the bus. I think with the Toledo defense he really has a shot at the 1,000 mark for the season even with sharing the load with Moore.

We could rack up some yardage on the Toledo Defense. I don't know how many touches Marcus is likely to get but if he can break a long run, he has a shot at breaking 1000. I think he needs about 130 yards, so it will be tough to pick up 5 yards at a time. Mixing in a couple of long ones isn't exactly a huge leap though. It could happen!

After finishing his second Bowl victory, Marcus becomes one of only 9 FBS players in history to rush for 1000 yards for 4 seasons as well as the 22nd player in FBS history to surpass 5000 career yards. Cox finished out his career at App with 143 yds vs Toledo in the CAMELIA BOWL victory!

To go back to the 4x1000 feat, Cox got the 1,000 in his final carry, that 10 yard burst get a first down after the missed FG to ice the game.

Marcus Cox has been getting interest from several NFL teams (most from Eagles and Chargers, but i have seen mentions on other boards) and has had interviews with the Chargers at the East/West Shrine bowl.
