I'm a big ga not southern fan (GSU). 3 - 3 at present.

I just can't figure out how SA can win their out of conf and suck against conf.

Beat Troy on the 12th and then hope they beat stAte on the 17th. Don't see anyone else doing it.

Monroe may be the worst team this conference has seen. Their qb got hurt late vs Texas State. Since then gotten killed by New Mexico and Arkansas State.

Granted Arkansas State is likely to win out.

Monroe sucks. I almost felt bad for those guys.

I stopped trying to figure us out a few weeks ago. I'm just riding whatever wave this is and hoping it drops us off at an 8-4 regular season mark and we can all look back at whatever that was in the UCA game as some sort of horrific nightmare that we woke up from.

People say that about us every year. We put up horrific OOC results, struggle against conference teams we shouldn't struggle with, there's no reason we could ever beat one of the leagues top teams. Yet we seem to always have success against league favorites

We do it to ourselves because Blake Anderson doesn't place any emphasis on OOC play, which is problematic, but as Troy fans can attest, it's incredibly dangerous to count us out of anything. Except Basketball...you can count us out of that.

I don't believe that he "doesn't place any emphasis on OOC," I think that's something fans say to rationalize losing.

Personally I'm not really concerned with what stAte does. We likely need to win out to win the conference. If we do that, mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.

Time will tell, I believe Arkansas State plays Georgia State this Thursday night on ESPNU, should be an interesting watch.

I don't think GSU has the offense to hang with Arkansas State despite having a strong defense.

App fans know well enough that an FCS loss can turn the program around.

I would hope that nobody counts Arkansas State out. We realize that, even with the horrendous OOC performance, there is too much talent on that team to take them lightly. As is usually the case with championship runs, stAte has had it's share of luck....including the injuries that derailed App in our game last year. App was clearly pulling away in that game before an injury to our center expose our lack of OL depth and effectively derailed the offense. Injuries are part of the game, so that's not offered as an excuse...just a comment. Injuries to the Arkansas State team help to explain the loss to App in 2014, so it flows both ways. I REALLY hate that we won't play this year (or next) as I believe this match up has the makings of a nice rivalry.

By the way, until our basketball re-build progresses further, we won't be discounting ANYBODY in that sport either!

Thanks for stopping by chief, really wish we played your guys this year. Hopefully when we go to divisions they adopt permanent partners and the ASU's get each other.

Troy has a tough six day stretch coming up. I don't see them getting through it undefeated. If they do they should crack the top 25 IMO.
