I really hate it didn’t work out with Bucci here. He is a talented player. In a perfect world, there would have been better existing leadership on the DL around him to help him.

Re: Portal time 25-26
Assume we are still wanting DL and OL? We think RB or rely on the main 2 currently in house?
Seems we need more big outside receiver(s) as well?

Re: Portal time 25-26
I am interested to see what happens at RB. We hosted Peyton Jones (Duke) who committed to Liberty. I assume and hope there could be some silent activity going on.

The number 14 is retired. He will have to pick a new favorite number. He may study Edward's play and become another Armanti.

Re: Portal time 25-26
Simply going by what I can find on each player from their previous school, this years class is coming in with more snaps and stats than last years by a mile. It doesn't say anything about how well they played or will play as a team or play within our system, but it appears as we have upgraded the jimmy and joes.
Hopefully these guys value hard work and are willing to be coached. Optimistic about a winning record next year now.

Re: Portal time 25-26
We just thought we had good offense weapons last year and ended up with not much. So I'll not get my hopes up too much. Especially with the lack of OL/DL currently.

Re: Portal time 25-26
I couldn't agree more. To me the trenches are everything. Good lines can make other players appear otherworldly when they are just average. We have a weak OL room and a depleted DL room and have very few replacement parts coming in. I think the first thing that should always be done with recruiting/ portal is get the lines situated. A really good OL can give an average QB enough time to get the job done, open big holes that an average running back can make big gains with and allow the WR time to get open. And a good DL can cause havoc in the backfield which give QBs nightmares and causes mistakes. Our DBs and LBs benefit with a strong DL and get exposed with a weak one. I really feel that average to above average offensive skill positions are easy to find, same goes with DBs and LBs. Those players look much much better when they play with good OL and DLs. Sadly, it does not seem that we are getting what we need in the portal and although I am excited by our high school recruits, it usually takes time for them to see the field at those positions.
