I saw a couple of tweets about this. I was just waiting to see if any more solid info about where he is interested in came up before I said anything. I did watch some film on him, just to see.mtnjax wrote:Saw today that an Ok State QB is going to be transferring. Might be worth looking into. Can't hurt to kick the tires on him

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I've been going back and checking twitter accounts of players that had mentioned going to App as walk-ons back around signing day or those that had posted they had a PWO offer but were waiting to decide if they were going to a school that had offered or were going to take a chance here. One announced today he was coming to play here this fall (Tucker Bell). He had mentioned a PWO offer back at signing day but I don't know if it still holds true. In checking I forgot I had added another player that said three months ago that he had accepted a PWO invitation (Bruce Thomas). Senior moment I guess.
Both are LB's. I have added them to the Newcomers page and have a couple of highlights for them.
LB Bruce Thomas (5′ 11″ 220) of Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, FL
LB Tucker Bell (5-10, 178) of Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, NC
Thomas Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2028229/#hi ... s/31244380

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Thomas looks like he could be a good ILB in our new system and Bell just looks like our new Blalock. Both look like they could excel in LB roles here. look like solid tacklers, which we have sorely missed

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Thanks 78. Just got home from a 14 hour trip and I found this a few minutes ago. I also have a walkon and a 2014 BB player to add. I'm leaving at 4 am for a 23 hour drive to Mississippi and back so I'll be out of contact until Friday. I'll add these to the master lists.AppGrad78 wrote:Add another preferred walk-on to our roster: LB Levi Duffield (6=2, 195) of Waynesville Tuscola

Re: Recruiting, 2013
From all I've been told the way we are getting to the level of scholarships we have to is from current non scholarships players, transfers, and the cream of the PWO crop. Not that any of that is news but yes, we are going to use some on PWO's. By definition a player offered a PWO is told that they are going to be on the team for at least the first year and there will be some form of help given to them. How many stick is yet to be seen. I was told that we are still holding a few back hoping for some more transfers but if none should come then we have enough among the other groups to get to our target level. The coaches are still after JUCO and transfers hard right now and will be as camps start and kids see where they are in the pecking order of their current teams.Saint3333 wrote:I wonder if our uptick in PWOs are being told a couple will get scholarships this year?

This kid reminds me of a 3x4 photo I have on my wall. We will just say the kid on my wall had a lot of tackles, a lot of INT, several block FGs, One at Michigan at the end of the game....firemoose wrote:Per twitter and newspaper reports I have added two players to the 2013 Master list. Re: Recruiting, 2013
The new 2013 roster has been released on GoASU.com and it appears we have picked up two transfer ILB's. I spotted them when I was comparing the new roster to the prospectus.
LB Toronto Thomas (6' 0" 220) of Air Force Prep in Colorado Springs, CO/Martin Luther King Jr High School in Ellenwood, GA is showing as a 2012 commit to Air Force who had offers from Wake Forest, Grambling St., UL-Monroe, Ga.Sou, and Richmond. I have inquires out to see if he has to sit because he was an FBS commit even though he was playing at a prep school. I have put up a player page with video for him on the 2013 Recruiting main page.
LB Osvaldo Sombo (6′ 2″ 225) of Bakersfield College in Bakersfield, CA/Butler High School in Matthews, NC is also showing on the roster. He was an East Meck player who transferred to Butler his senior year. He was in the news as being charged with rape that year but the charges were later dropped. From all reports he appears to have kept clean for the two years in Cali. Hopefully that will continue. I trust our staff and feel that they wouldn't have brought him in unless they believe in him as we've had enough of that kind of trouble. I don't have a player page up for him yet but he is listed on the main page and listed below is a link to a video clip of him from AthleteVault.com.

Our last transfer from AF Prep turned out to be pretty good. Pierre Banksfiremoose wrote:The new 2013 roster has been released on GoASU.com and it appears we have picked up two transfer ILB's. I spotted them when I was comparing the new roster to the prospectus.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
We have an addition to the 2013 Roster. As I reported yesterday WR Austin Fowler is no longer listed on the roster. That brought us to 109 players. We're now back to 110. WR/DB Trey Anderson (5' 10" 185) of Bishop Moore Catholic School in Orlando, FL is now listed on the roster as of today (the 6th). I placed a video link to some highlights of him below.
