One of them quit the team during camp, two others are true freshmen. Tough to play young guys on the OL. The problem isn't the recruiting since we got the "extra" scholarships, the problem is we don't have enough options from the 4th and 5th year classes. Insufficient OL recruiting in '11 and '12 is catching up with us.
I understand that but there is no reason you fall apart when one guy goes down. How about a JUCO till you get the guys in?
We looked at some juco OL in this past class, but just couldn't find one where there was enough mutual interest.

And I don't think we'll fall apart without Nunn. We did move the ball pretty well against Troy, after all. But I do think the dropoff could be big enough that it will hurt us.

If we had gone up two TDs by coming out with a score to start the 3rd - which is what we usually do that 2nd half would have been really different with them having to play catch up. But instead, they essentially start the 3rd tied with us.
I was going to post the exact same opinion. I believe we would have scored and taken the momentum from them on that possession and put the game away- but they gambled HUGE and won. That same living on the edge risky play calling came back to bite them in the end.

We were flat and they played like their life depended on it. Their QB is going places.

This game was a reality check and hopefully we grow from it and become stronger.

A lot to work on. Our holes just weren't there in the run up the middle. Wished we would have used screens more like they killed us on constantly.
Now for the serious question ... what kind of scotch? I'm partial to The Balvenie DoubleWood and Aberlour myself.

That being said, it's probably good for this team. They seem to have a rather large head with their FTC (for the cash) slogan right now. Hopefully this game took them back a notch or two and will wake them up for the rest of the year.

The worst part of the game for me was the crowd; Late arriving and not very loud. The students are hit or miss, but most of the alum consistently sit on their butts. The Rock has lost some intimidation over the past year or two. Even at the GS game, while the crowd was "into it"; it wasn't as loud as in years past.

Different crowd and less passion IMO.
You know I am just plain tired of hearing this alum crap. I don't know where the hell you sit but where we are in 203 we are plenty loud. I think your professional grade sound meter is broken.
It was always better back in the day.....
I love it when people critique how other fans choose to enjoy the game. If you don't do it like me you are doing it wrong. LoL

Wife got me a pint of 12 year Macallan, though I have a bottles of Johnny: red, black, and platinum in the cabinet.

I've never liked the blended scotches much. Been a single malt lady for eons and eons.

Funny story - many, many years ago at my father's retirement party (long before scotch was the "in" thing), I walked up to the bar and asked for a scotch (Glenlivet). The bartender asked if I was "one of the Whites". "Yes, why?" I asked. "Because I'd heard there were six of you and the other five people drinking scotch tonight are Whites." Yep, heredity works.

Let's hope this week's game doesn't need any scotch - blended or not!

I like about any and all. Been doing bourbon lately as well.

That would be my last name as well.

If we tried that's all you can ask. I do hope that someone steps up though because Taylor needs better protection than he got Saturday.

Tough night of injuries for the dance team and cheerleading squads too... Dance teamer toughed it out til the end of the routine but had to be helped off. Male cheerleader was crushed under the pile when the pyramid came down on him - holding his back. Both looked to be in a lot of pain.

Some bad mojo floating around KBS Sat. Are we sure there weren't some real witches there? It was Halloween after all. They need to check for talismans and amulets next Halloween game...maybe a shrunken head or two. ;)
