You do realize that players can develop, improve, be coached up, etc. And with injuries in the game, even if an "upgrade" was found, you still need depth.AppState89 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 2:38 pmMe too. We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Yes, I do realize that. I didn't see much improvement as the season moved forward. We gave up too many TD of 40+ yards. Receivers open all the time. If it's not working, replace.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:52 pmYou do realize that players can develop, improve, be coached up, etc. And with injuries in the game, even if an "upgrade" was found, you still need depth.AppState89 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 2:38 pmMe too. Yes, any other former JUCO player would have to sue the NCAA as well. I do suspect we see a class action, or at least multiple other lawsuits, in the coming months. Too many kids have potential eligibility for there not to be more lawsuits.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:44 pmI don’t think that’s what the injunction means. I personally don’t like this. While I understand the point, Pavia is looking for one more payday as he is more likely to make more in NIL than he would as a pro athlete or out in the real world.t4pizza wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:35 pmYes, any other former JUCO player would have to sue the NCAA as well. Pretty much every decision that has been made post-covid in college athletics hasn't been good for the viability of G5 and below long-term.

Of course he is, he knows he won't be a pro athlete. I am not a fan either, although I haven't been a fan of much since the Supreme's said NCAA football was a monopoly.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:45 pmI personally don’t like this. Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
Not a fan of this precedent. If this becomes the law of the land, unless you are a 4 star or 5 star kid out of high school, D1 coaches will rarely ever look at you. Meaning more kids having to make multiple moves during college to hopefully make it to their final school. I have a son going into high school next year that would be ecstatic to play FCS or FBS level ball that will now be competing for even less spots(with lengthening Juco eligibility) and against 21 and 22 year old men as a fresh faced 18 year old in a few years. This is ruining the college "experience" as we knew it.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

How long until they sue for unlimited eligibility? I can go to college as long as I want. They'll argue it limits their ability to make money if they have to quit going to college.

I mean....if the NCAA isn't governing the JUCO's then why would they count those years toward eligibility? Let's say as an 18 year old I go to juco and play two years... I only have 2 left. Now if I got to a juco for two years and don't play any and then go to a 4 yr institute at the age of 20 I get 4 years of eligibility. Seems that the NCAA is wanting to control things they have no say over. Unless I'm totally reading this lawsuit wrong.

I don’t think the NCAA is pushing for this. I think the kid is just trying to stay in school.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:51 pmI mean....if the NCAA isn't governing the JUCO's then why would they count those years toward eligibility? Yes, I concur he is. My point is the same point that Pavia brings up. If the NCAA doesn't govern the JUCO's then why are they allowed to count it as years of eligibility.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 3:09 pmI don’t think the NCAA is pushing for this. Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
True. But unless there has been recent changes to the rules regarding eligibility, the eligibility clock starts for athletes on the first day that they start taking classes towards a college degree. It will be interesting to see how that is argued by both sides and who creates the most compelling argument.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 3:19 pmYes, I concur he is. Seems like with transfer portal activity, we should have more coaches in place by now.

Something about Singleton and Arnett always felt too good to be true. We might have to reconsider our approach.
